How do I upload vids to Youtube faster?

I have made a 2.30 min vid and I am trying to upload it to youtube. The estimate was over 100 mins!!!I have tried converting it to .mp4 and .wmv and the mp4 appears to be quicker, but still not as fast as i assumed it would be. Does anyone know of a quick way to get vids uploaded? Maybe some sort of software? I have just downloaded freemake video converter to convert them..or maybe I can export using a friendlier format? I am using adobe premier to make the videos. Do my files need to be compressed in some sort of way? Or would that mean youtube couldnt do anything with a compressed or a zipped file?

Any thoughts?

Alan

Compressing and converting the files can help, but usually it results in a low quality video.
Get a better internet connection - I know this may not be the answer you were after, but if you want to keep the quality of your videos you will have large files. And large files requires long time to upload.

Hi Alan. Is that your home connection? That seems like a dial-up speed almost (though I don't know how large the video is). I uploaded 40 videos last week using the youtube batch upload and they were all uploaded in 45 minutes.
That sure seems like a long time!

Convert the videos to mp4 or flv
Upload them in bulk if you want to upload them faster
Another thing it could be your home connection that may need an upgrade. 100 minutes for a 2 minute and 30 second video is too long. Also consider the size of the video so it the video was like 4gb the obviously its going to take a while.
