$0.20 per lead... HYFR!

Fellow Warriors,

Just got an email from a fellow respected Warrior who's name I'm not going to mention here for obvious reasons. The promotion was to a product offering the best lead generation/solo ad experience.

First off the smallest package was for more than $500. and the highest lets just say had a lot of zero's at the end.

Also this marketer would get me on Skype to try and close on the offer. All done professionally and executed well in the spirit of marketing.

First signs of danger:

1. Sales copy was very hyped up.

2. The sales copy contradicted the offer in question, i.e "email marketing is dead, but learn how to convert your list from freebie seekers into buyers." You get what I mean.

3. No refund policy

It's extremely worrying to see marketers doing this kind of selling and just wonder how many people they have managed to close. Not suggesting that they are not offering a good experience for their customers. However, base on the three points I mentioned the one that irks me the most is point 2.

Using the contradiction tactic to sell just stinks if you ask me. Maybe that would have worked on me 2 years ago. But I've seen enough sales copy to differentiate black from white.

What was more surprising is that this product is not even listed on ClickBank. I would have expected something like this to be listed on their network. Maybe big CB are finally cleaning up their act. Who knows... The network that did list it thought have clearly shown their infancy in the market they are in(rookies for the slaughter).

Not even going to discuss the fact that there was no refund policy. However, for the prices they were expecting there is no way I'd pay for even the smallest package. Even if I used a credit card that I could later issue a charge back on. It's not just worth the hassle if you ask me.

Ok, not the type to rant on here but just wanted to share my thoughts and say to all of you chasing the dream & building your businesses. ALWAYS approach with due diligence. Stay col and take your time when investing in things of this nature. Try to gather as much information as possible before investing.

Especially when it comes to buying leads. It's like someone trying to sell you a business online. If you think about it your business is your list/data base. Without your list you have no business; in regard to online. We all know, that software that magically deposits dollar$ into out bank accounts doesn't exist. Well..... at least some of us know:rolleyes:

If it looks to good to be true, it probably is.

Rant over... (was it even a rant? Don't know if this short post qualifies)

Well, the thing about selling leads.. is once you sell them, they're gone. So, I can understand why the no refund policy is enforced. From a buyers stand point, look for reviews and feedback from previous customers. Don't let shiny things catch your eye without doing your own research.

Manie, It's always good to see a great rant! A little venting can be good!
Anyhow, I'm a big fan of building your own list anyway, I would always caution someone from buying leads or buying any kind of business where you have to buy the leads -

Yes I can understand it too. So not really shouting about it. Just touched on it lightly to make my point.
