In urgent need of advice: i.e. have fun criticizing my indiegogo pitch

Hello,
I'm having the perfect product, it's free of charge, its fun, its brand new, and it brings a lot of advantages for anybody using it, but nobody cares about it. So the question is, what have I done wrong? Can you please give me some feedback? It's probably something bloody obvious for someone who knows how to sell something...

The projects is called endymio, it's a free online speed reading training course.
And this is how I try to raise some funds for it: Become more successful by maximizing your reading speed and comprehension! | Indiegogo

Can you please give me some feedback about the video and/or text presentation?
What would you change? Why or how would you change it?

Also, how would you get the word of a speed reading online training out to a broad audience?
Who or which sites would you contact to introduce them to our service?

Any feedback is appreciated!
Thank you,
Kind regards,
Michael.

  • It is obvious that you have allot of passion for your project and knowledge of your subject.

Even though it has the potential to do well, at a quick glance of your indiegogo pitch, I think that asking 100€ for a t shirt would only work if it was first worn by a hot and famous movie actress.

Asking for 250€ for a coffee mug might work if the same movie actress drank from it and left her lipstick all over it.

The 1000€ for a link back, or 5000€ for a logo on your website for a year might work if your traffic is similar to the warrior forum.

In short, your confidence in your brand is admirable, but I think that at this stage, and with your current presentation, you would have needed to adjust your contributors perks and prices.

Also, a 75.000€ goal is wonderful, but is a steep hill to climb, especially if you do not already have a large fanbase in place to pitch this to.

Without a large customer/fanbase already in place, you are now relying on strangers to share your page and video, and even though it's very educational, it's lacking overall excitement and share worthiness, so you might want to work on the overall packaging to make it more exciting.

I.E. Try to "Sell the sizzle, not the steak." with an infomercial style video and presentation.

Here's a fun video we did for one of our products. It was adjusted from our original approach to reach a certain target audience. Watch this, and then watch yours, and see if you get any ideas.

    Hope this helps.

    Hello Arnold,

Thank you very much for your advice!
I'll take care about the contributors perks and prices and also about getting more excitement into the video presentation.
Do you know a professional writer who could take care about/improve the text presentation - one you would advice?
    Thanks again,
    Michael.

    Hello Michael,

I did check out your indiegogo campaign. Your video has good information but I think it should be more interesting and fun.

You can check out fiverr for video gigs and writers who can write articles to promote your campaign.

You need all the help you can get because you only have 23 more days to go.

Check out traffic gigs in fiverr but do not go for machine generated likes and views because it won't help you find real donors.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck,
    Susanc

Your campaign page (like most of them) is missing two key components -

    - Traffic
    - An appealing value proposition

First, let's deal with traffic. What have you done to get interested eyeballs on this page? Nothing right? You've probably had more clicks from your post in this thread than you've had from willing donator sources.

Go find out where the speed reading community hangs out. Get involved in their world and start sending them this way. Who blogs about it? Who YouTubes about it? Who's got presence on Facebook or Twitter. Go find them, get them interested and excited and get them to send their peeps to check you out.

Next up, the appealing value proposition. I'm currently working on an automatic squirrel puncher called autosquipunch. I haven't worked out all the details yet but if you give me $50 I'll send you a mug with the autosquipunch logo on it...

What's that? You don't want an autosquipunch mug and certainly not for $50?

You've got to give people something of equal or greater value than the money you're asking for. If you want me to give you 45 euros, you've got to give me more than a mug and a sense of having helped you achieve your goals because, guess what, I want to use that money to achieve mine ... squirrels aren't going to punch themselves, you know!
