Nine year old child from Singapore developing iPhone apps - Appletell

Can you imagine? I can say: "hey kid, develop this application for me, I want the application contains these features,...., as a payment I'll buy you new laptop that you can use to build another application for me, and if you have made me 10 applications and each of them getting 4000 downloads per month, and each application costs $1 per download, I will buy you your own ice cream store" :lol

In the 80's we said "Kids would have more respect for their parents if they didnt' have to teach them how to program their VCR's."

In the year 2009, "Kids would have more respect for their parents if they didn't have to teach them how to put a layout on their myspace pages."

Ever tried to make an iPhone app? The SDK is literally drag and drop unless you're attempting to make something the phones were really not designed for.
Even basic platform games can be made in a few hours if you already have the art work.

There are already a lot of kids who are genius, i think they are the kind of kids the new millennium are producing. Good for that kid!

Yawn. I don't know why people get so impressed at this kind of thing. I remember other little kids programming in machine code and assembler on microcomputers in the early 90s and so obviously even before that. It's not a big deal unless you live in some sort of paradigm.

pretty common nowadays. i heard singapore kids start using computers in school since age 5.
