Looking for "in-person" marketing mentor

I'm new to internet marketing, not looking to "get rich quick", willing to do the hard work and daily hours to build, manage & optimize one or more Internet income streams.
I've gotten a good deal of printed/recorded materials for learning about Adsense (Joel Comm's disc series), and affiliate mktg. (Holly Mann's "Honest Riches" and Lanty Paul's "Auto Cash), and I know there's plenty of free info available in the forums. I can plow through all this reading, but there's so much info, tangents and directions, it quickly gets overwhelming. I would learn a lot faster from a hands-on "show-me-right-on-my-computer" mentor.
So I'm asking if anyone here knows of such a mentor that either lives in my area (Los Angeles/Ventura, CA), or provides "on-screen" mentorship from afar, or how to go about finding such a person. Obviously, I'm wiling to pay for this service, but I'm not interested in just one more book or CD course or newsletter subscription, I want to learn one-on-one from a real person who's already had real success in a variety of different IM streams. Thanks

The key is focusing on one thing.

Build that up first then move on if you have time.
Determine what you want to do.
Affiliate products? Adsense? Your own Product?

If its affliate products how are you going to do them?
Kind of money you need to make etc...

    All that goes into it.
Its fine to learn from a mentor but if you want to do different things than the mentor you may not be learning from the right person.

Appreciate and agree with your response, alleycat. For me, part of being a newbie is not being sure which would be the best "one thing" to pick. So many people insist their marketing type - Adsense & Adwords, blogging, e-mail, affiliate, selling your own ebooks, etc. - is the best, easiest, least time-consuming and most lucrative. As a newcomer, I don't have enough knowledge to judge and will either have to trust someone else's opinion or just pick the one I think I will enjoy the most. Any thoughts?

I can highly recommend Chris Farrell. He is a warrior and specializes in teaching newbies from the very beginning. He is coming out with a new membership that sounds like it will be awesome for newcomers like yourself. I am still learning and will be subscribing as well. You can google him and check out his free ebook "How To Create Your Own website By 3:45 This Afternoon". I used this ebook to publish my very first site. It is awesome. You will do well to check him out. Hope this helps.

From start-to-profit the most powerful factor is you. If
you want to be a strict internet marketer, poke buttons
and never speak to anyone, that's an option. If you just
want to quit your job and be a full-time entrepreneur the
straightest line to getting there, if you are coachable,
is learning how to prospect on the phone. The internet
can be used effectively for lead generation and email
followup with this way of doing things.

I do in fact "coach" people to do this. I don't much give
a toss about "internet marketing" as a livelihood. The 'net
is just a new media form to be exploited and integrated
    with proven direct selling methods.
