"THE LAYOUT!" ..This one CONVERTS 1:2 - And it's so friggin' simple!

Okay, it's not like that this is some kind of revolutionary new stuff, but by laying out my sites like this and keeping everything above the fold - i managed to get some insane opt-in rates.

  • Notice that i have a javascript countdown (starting at 7:00)
  • And i have just a signup button which leads to the actual opt-in form
The button thing may be debatable, but i found that IF they click on that button, they also fill out the upcoming form and hit the second "submit" button.

How do you do the timer thing? I think it could work real well on a squeeze page I currently have up...

Nice looking page by the way, short and sweet and to the point.

Well, I coded my own custom timer thingy - but there's a few free scripts available, e.g. this one:

So... what if I landed on your site and watched until
the clock counts down to zero... does anything happen
    then?

I was just wondering the same thing. Although, I do see how the initial reaction would be to signup before the time runs out it'd be nice to know what happens if it did.

      Thanks

In my version, a popup window appears when the countdown's up.. ("this is your last chance to register - click here to do so - blah blah")

There's even a free script that does this - i'm currently searchin' my a** off but i just can't remember the name of it.

    Hi Chris,

Thanks for the info, I really appreciate it. In an effort to give something back to you, I created a source PNG that is fully editable in Fireworks. Just edit the layer like Photoshop.

    Here's the graphic: http://www.totalinfotech.com/images/.../Optin_Box.png

    Thanks again!

    Respectfully,
    EJ
