My first advice is, learn everything you can from the forum before you purchase anything. It takes time and effort but you're better off spending the money on traffic.

That is very good advice. While you are looking for information on listbuilding, look through the WSO forum. There are likely a few WSO's who will give you a "free" e-book, the only cost being giving up your e-mail address to get on their list.

...Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just set there.

Would you be happy with a free one? It's in the forum already.

    Start with this thread: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post6123982

And then try this thread: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post5300985

And by the time you've had a long, slow, careful read through those two, you'll find that you can probably distinguish between sense and nonsense on this subject, so the next thing to do is to use the forum's search function to find all the threads in this section of the forum with the word "list" or "lists" in their titles, and continue reading.

I think that's likely to be much better than "a product".

    It's free, too.

    Good luck!

If you would like to see what he's all about, check out my website (below) and watch the Webinar I have. It's free, and offers a good insigth into what he can teach you.

He is selling his WSO here on the forum for very cheap, it's like $27, when once his students paid $997 for that course. Reason its cheap is because it's not live, and is prerecorded so you don't get to ask questions, but for $27 it's rediculously cheap.

Let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
I agree 100% with this statement. Alex Jeffreys is the guy you should work with if you are starting to build your list. Great teacher! I have learned from him, and I'm not an easy sell. I know how to do this marketing stuff and he help me. Alex detected something that I was not doing and I never look back!

Give me $50 and I'll send them to you in a PDF format, perhaps change the title, if you really want to pay money for something you can find for free.

This forum is chock-full of great free information that sometimes you won't get elsewhere, not even for money. The thing is that you have to know who to trust and jump from one thread to another, because most threads have links to others. In this case, I'd say trust Alexa and her advice.

Anyway, go read first the free info that you get in those threads and keep you wallet in your back pocket.

And stay as far away as you can from the WSO section, most of the products there are sheer 'parC'.

You have to be careful about what product you buy. There's a difference between building a list and being adept at email marketing. Anyone can build a list, but a responsive one, that's an entirely different thing altogether.

    Hi Sean Smith,

To be honest if you are completely new to list building then using an online mentor that provides step by step daily tasks for you to complete is a good place to start.

For an absolute newcomer I would recommend the Chris Farrell membership as it goes into every single little detail and does not expect you to know the lingo etc like some products do.

This allows you to learn at your pace and fully understand what it is you need to do to start building your list.

After that I would recommend further enhancing your skills at this very forum.

You can learn a lot by just looking at what the more experienced warriors are doing and use some of those ideas as inspiration.

You will make mistakes and you will get frustrated but once you fully understand the process it is just a case of finding the traffic and focusing on improving your sales funnel.

Hope this helps you out and hope you take action my friend!!!

    Hi Sean,
$70 is enough cash to get started but you'll have to use it to maximum benefit.

Here's how I think I would use it for maximum effectiveness. My only assumption is that you already have a blog of some sort.

    1) There are a lot of free or cheap WSOs here on WF that take you through the list building process.. I suggest you grab a few of those to get started before you invest in any products.

    2) You'll need to build a "lead Magnet" and "Squeeze Page" both of which you can easily do for free.

    3) Once you get the fundamentals in place, for free your $70 could get you about 200 clicks through to your offer if you bought a few solo ads..

    4) and at that point you'd have at least 100 or so on your list

    All the Best

This product usually works very well, and it's free. You just rinse and repeat and you pull a new lesson from it every time:

I would put $70 aside, towards the actual e-mail subscription service rather than paying up to that much for a 'product' to teach me how to do so.

Spend some time learning the ins and outs of list building on the warrior forum. You don't need to buy anything to learn one of the most basic and most essential assets to an online business.

All the very best to your list building. Building a list is a task where keeping relationship with your list is an art. So try to keep good relationship with your subscribers. Give them what they want and you get what you want.

There is no such thing as a best product for any person. To become a successful list builder you will have to continually invest into information products and coaching programs.

While buying a great product is an important step, hard work should never be neglected. You don't acquire the actual skills by reading material, watching videos or getting coached.. The only way that you actually acquire any skills is by working on the skill.

Thus, look for great products and apply as you learn.

Look, everything works to a certain degree. It has been my experience that the key is how much time you spend on a particular task. If you are new to list building then 80% of your time should be spent on building your list. So, in a nutshell, focus on your activity rather than accomplishments.

I'm going to let you in on a little secret. The money in this business is made on the back-end. I would suggest that you spend an enormous amount of time creating a product as if you were going to sell it but give it away to build your list. Ask yourself the following question.

Would I rather make a quick sale or would I like to have a bunch of opt-ins? For my business, I would rather have the opt-ins. It sounds like I know something that you haven't learned yet.

Learning before doing is better than rushing before failing.
I suggest you should investing that bucks into real knowledge, such as from eBook, from gurus, etc.
Once you know the basic, plan your move. And then you can rush as much as you want.

    GOOD LUCK MATE !

Save your money for Solo Ads and paid traffic. You should just learn from other warrior members and spend time doing research before you purchase any product!

Remember that each month you will have to pay the autoresponder fee ($20) and hosting for your squeezepage ($5), is that included in your $70?

At the moment which marketer's lists are you on, and how do you rate them?

Find someone who you trust and ask them what they recommend.

Rather than recommend places for you to go i will tell where i have learned my list building info from

A list building course which i did with alex jeffries back in 2008 (this set the backbone of my list building principles)

I have purchased a few list building wso`s and clickbank products and the rest I have learned on my own
by watching thousands of videos and reading thousands of blog posts

One of the best ways to learn is to get the basics and then just take action, get a squeeze page set up, drive targeted traffic to it, use a little oto (even if it does not do well don`t worry)

Build your list and watch conversions and learn on the job

Because the poster knows that either:

          1. Their method doesn't work and their bad advice will be called on

          or

          2. It's Blackhat, and they're at least smart enough to not post about it publicly.

List building is not really that hard to learn. Hop over to the WSO forum and you'll see some free WSOs in this niche.

I learned list building the old way from Frank Kern. But with tons of marketers with monster lists nowadays, you can maximize that money by investing it on a high quality solo ad. You'll get the money back as long as you have a solid funnel in place.

First of all do you believe that you have good amount of knowledge of list building. If you have good knowledge of list building then apply those for traffic. If not then focus on learning before spending money for that. This is not wise to waste money for something where you do not have enough knowledge.

Spend only $35 of it to become a member of the Warrior Room, there you can get at least 10-15 different list building guides that were WSO's at one time or another. Then emulate the lists that you like, still read and decide to keep over the raging sea of no-name lists out there trying to skim the last nickel out of your pocket.

Find a guide or repurpose one into a free offer in exchange for a valid email address, collect names and start the relationship building with your readers.
