Promoting Holiday Products (Halloween)

When should you start promoting Holiday offers?

I'm asking this because Halloween is coming up and I have a great site to promote costumes for affiliate sales.

I know that most retail stores promote holidays items a month and a half before the holiday.

    In short form, my answer is "Now."

    In long form, if your customers are going to be ordering products that require shipping, they're already starting to shop, so get on the bandwagon. We've already got the seasonal halloween stores opening up here in Jacksonville, FL, so starting now isn't going to be too early.

    I just threw up our first Halloween shirt on Cafepress last night, so I'm following my own advice.

      The local Spirit of Halloween opened up shop at the beginning of September here in Orlando. Old Time Pottery already has a few Christmas decorations for sale. Never too early.

    YOU NEED to start NOW for Christmas!!! Halloween is almost too late now, but I would go for it anyway.

      Yes on the Christmas bit, no on Halloween. Last minute/not available in stores costumes and bulk candy is still doing very well.

    Whenever you see your local Halloween USA store do a short term lease on a vacant storefront and open shop. That is a good sign its time to start promoting Halloween stuff.
