Choosing a niche frustration

It's amazing how much you might like a niche when you start making money in it. The first niche I ever got into I had no desire in it, but it made me tens of thousands of dollars. I learned to like it a bit more.

If you can't find a niche that you are passionate or knowledgeable about then choose a niche that you are somewhat interested in. Pick something that makes you say "That would be pretty cool to learn about" and start doing your keyword research.

Finding the right niche isn't easy but it will payoff when you do find the RIGHT one.

Here's what I done at when I finally switched on to making money online...

1. I asked my partner and friends what they thought my strengths and weaknesses were and made a list.

2. I emailed other people who knew me and asked them too.

3. I tracked back through my life to try and remember where I had the most fun and why.

Then I compared the lot together with what I thought I was good at, had a natural skill for (sweet spot) and loved.

The result...

There may not be a niche that exactly suits your strengths and enjoyments but it is quite easy to adapt.

I had spent years mentoring people in addictions. When I finally made some proper money online I naturally fell into helping people to do the same. The skills are transferable.

I strongly recommend that you do something you love.

You will write with passion...
You won't find it much like work...
You marketing skills don't have to be so good cause you connect with people through your love for the area you are in...

I could go on but working in a favourite area is a prerequisite for me. Don't discount and force something else. You will likely regret it.

Here's something else to think about. Many entrepreneurs develop a passion around the business they build around their customers first over the actual niche they are in. When I first got into wedding planning, I had very little interest or passion about the actual topic, but I did have a passion about delivering solutions to my customer base.

In the odd case you will hit a dead-end - I operate in one "hobby" niche with a blog that I just do for pure fun and networking...it generates enough money to pay for updates and to feed my hobby (on music side), but I know it will not ever be massive.

However, there are many other interests I have had that do tie into the bigger niches (but entering through a sub-niche angle and positioning) where it has been a great marriage between interest and money.

It may help you to share some of your interests/passions here - you may get more direct help.

Why don't you flip around your niche research? So your post title "frustration" provides the hidden clue. Find any niche where users are experiencing immense frustration and painful problems (that are solvable).

That is exactly waht I am asking if I should do, find the niche that can be worked even if it's not my passion.
