INTERNET MARKETING

I would love to hear about your experiences monetizing/converting completely untargetted traffic.

Take the above domain name for example. I think a lot of people would check that doman out if they saw it for example in the back window of my truck or across the back of a shirt.

Question is, what do you do with that traffic
How do you convert a completely un-targetted visitor into a sale?

What product do you offer?

Ideas? Experience?

  Hogsnot makes high performance motor oils and lubricants, Frogsnot would lend it's self to a marine product I would think... maybe a water proofing solution or a fiberglass polish, not being a boater I don't know for sure but it's a thought..

  Question isn't about this domain in particular.
  
  If u tried to sell boat polish, how many peps visiting out of curiosity will be in the market. A small percentage.
  
  Question is, u will have untargetted traffic coming. What methods of monetization lends itself to untargetted traffic?

  Better question is why you'd want to try to swim across that metaphorical river full of alligators, pythons, and disappointment when Targeted Traffic Bridge is open 24/7 (complete with a free ice cream stand in the middle).

Anytime I have seen a "generic" like that it was monetized with humor or politics...something that draws a reaction out of a casual surfer.
