Hi everyone

Not sure if i am asking too much with this question

If you are making your own product review site for whichever niche you are promoting what approach would you take in your articles to get traffic to your review website?

    I wouldn't try article marketing with review pieces. Publishers in your niche don't gain anything from reposting a thinly veiled sales pitch for product XYZ.

    Maybe I'm reading this differently, but I'm not seeing someone asking how to get review articles syndicated. If that is the actual question, though, I'm with the two posters above.

    If the question is more in the line of "what type of article should I write that will get syndicated and draw readers back to my review site", then this may be helpful...

    When making anything but the most basic impulse purchase, people generally go through five stages. I've dubbed this the Natural Buying Process:
    1. Your prospect must first realize that they have a problem they want solved, or a desire they want filled.

    2. Your prospect seeks to educate themselves and looks for the options available.

    3. With an array of options now, the prospect tries to narrow down their choices to the ones they believe will best solve the problem or fulfill the desire.

    4. They decide on a course of action.

    5. They actually act on their decision.
    Most "review sites" tend to focus on steps 4 and 5. Hence the emphasis on exact match domains and 'buyer keywords'. More authoritative review sites will also have content addressing step 3, in the form of buying guides or feature/benefit grids or something.

    So you might want to focus your article syndication efforts on step 2 - educating your prospects and helping them see the broad options available. Your resource box would then offer those interested a way to move to step 3 (on your site, of course).

    On your site, you help guide them through steps 3 and 4, and your links provide the path to step 5.

    These 'Step 2' articles have the advantage of being easier to write without getting 'sales-y', which makes them easier to find syndication homes for them.

    Instead of writing about products, you're writing about the broader niche and doing it in terms of the desired outcome of the reader.

      Before you attempt to sell or "review" a product, first sell yourself to your target market. For example, if you sell security or alarm systems, position yourself as a security specialist by writing articles for businesses on crime statistics, how to secure their premises, protect their employees, internal procedures, community resources, etc.

      Ideally, your articles should serve more as establishing "credentials" within the niche and never initially mention a specific product. Besides encouraging wide syndication to publishers, this marketing subtlety is extremely powerful for drawing prospects in to your website. This effect is particularly pronounced in more competitive niches.

      Having demonstrated your knowledge within this niche, you may be conferred by implication the title "security specialist", with subtle but very powerful credentials to your website for additional resources, tips, product reviews, etc. If done in a non-salesy approach, it will happen frequently that readers will visit your website to read and/or optin for product reviews, and even sell themselves through your affiliate links.

      This article syndication marketing model has been effective long before the internet, and has become ever more relevant with Google's frequent updates and on-going algorithm changes. An excellent ebook I have often recommended is this timely classic, Turn Words Into Traffic, by Jim and Dallas Edwards.
