Default Insight Needed: Where should the anchor link lead to?

Based on what i've read in article marketing posts the general article marketing plan goes something like this.

1. Choose a niche
2. Research and pick hot keyword phrases from that niche
3. Find affiliate products suited for that niche
4. write articles inserting the hot keyword phrases
5. create resource box with the:
:::::A. hot keyword phrase
:::::B. anchor link (bloghome, blog post, affiliate link redirect or landing page??)
6. Create the page that anchor link leads to (if necessary based on the above 5B)
7. post article to article sites
8. socialize article links: bookmark, backlink ect...

My question is with 5B - what's the best place for readers to click onto after they've read your entire article and found you worthy of their time?

I know the options but I just need some insight.

Thanks,
Maren

Well if you are linking to an affiliate offer consider this.

link to your own redirect url like

yoursite.com/out/affiliate-keyword-offer-001/

In the "out" dir on your site put a .htaccess file with this entry

Redirect /out/affiliate-keyword-offer-001/ Make Money Online - Internet Marketing Course - Money Rake

This will make your affiliate links look clean and neat on your site.

Now i'm thinking that this was kinda stupid question to begin with but I think the thing that's throwing me off was the fact that ezinearticles.com once told me that they don't accept links that redirect to affiliate offers.

PS. This video explains why I haven't made much money doing IM. Great tips for getting out there and actually doing the IM stuff you've known forever My document title (found this site on the forum last night)

Hello Maren,

What I have found that is really effective is link it to your hosted blog, wordpress blog, hub page, wet paint, or squidoo lens. This works out great because you can post all your affiliate links on your hosted blog or your wordpress blog and you won't be considered for spamming. Ezine is really strick on what you can link to.

If you don't have a hosted blog or wordpress blog, try wet paint, hup page, or squidoo lens. These are some really great options because you can make a page or lens in about 15 to 30 minutes, so you can create relevant information on what ever affiliate offer you want and link to it.

It is always a great idea to link your articles to your own blogs or lenses so you can continue to redirect people to your content. Lenses are easy to make so you can customize them to link to other affiliates you are working on in tandem with the information that led them to your lense or blog initially.

You can use RSS feeds on your lenses to bring current information to your blog or lens. RSS feeds are always great because it gives readers the choice of which content they want to use and it shows them that the author of the blog or lens is more credible than others not using the feed. RSS feeds also help keep your blog or lens current in the search engines.

Ezine is pretty tough to work with when it comes to affiliate links. Your best option is to go to wordpress.com and create a blog. Post your affiliate links on the blog and then link your article to your wordpress blog. That should work around the Ezine thing.

Best,
Nikki
