To do a squeeze page or not? Help please

I currently have a website that I really love but it need to get into list building. I currently use optimize press for my other sites but I don't really want to install it on my favorite one because its going to change the look of it completely. I have currently put on my blog a link to a squeeze page with a free report (but haven't had a whole lot of success). So my question is do I just give it more time with the setup I have or switch my site to optimize press and put an exit squeeze page on that? ( not trying to get traffic to my site but if you are wanting more info on my site for advise purposes its in my signature) but just looking for advice.

    I don't know a lot about Optimize Press, but I would think it is customizable enough to keep the basic 3 column format and the colors you have and still be able to create an exit squeeze page.

      Unfortunately I am new to optimize press as well and that is part of my worry as well. I have converted a couple of my sites already and I have had to redo almost every page and because I am new to optimize press I am worried about converting it and it turning into a complete disaster and losing everything I already have.

      I really appreciate your advice and it is still one the maybe list

        You are welcome my friend. One of the big advantages with wordpress themes is that you can make your site look very much different without losing any of your content.

        I don't use optimize press, I use Flexsqueeze, but I can't imagine that the inner working are very much different. Premium themes that have a dashboard for changing the look of the site usually work with radio buttons or an auxiliary dashboard inside to create the look.

        Flexsqueeze, lik eThesis, comes with a way to add a bit of custom CSS code which can be used for more granular design tweaks.

        I am thinking that OP has switches that let you decide where and when your popups are going to appear and how long your buy button is going to be delayed and stuff like that.

        I don't know what the particulars of the them you are using right now, but many themes have a function that lets you download all the design tweaks in a csv file so you can turn the theme back if you wish to the way it looked before.

    With so many people saying that Optimize Press is such a great program what made you decide to use Flexsqueeze?

    I appreciate your advice my only problem is I am a bit of a newbie and don't know a lot about coding.

      I didn't want the features that OP cites as a reason for buying it, in particular, the delay buy button for videos.

      At first I had Thesis, but I did not know enough about CSS coding to make it feasible to create websites quickly. With Flexsqueeze, I can put up anew site in an hour or so.

      I use hardly any of the built in templates in Flexsqueeze anymore because they are very, very IM, lots of red headlines, and giant point arrows and such, but the guy who developed it is really helpful and now my sites look pretty good.

      I just got one finished up for a client, and I even managed to add in a slider in the area just below the header, so I was well pleased.

      Looking back now, if I had to do it again, I would probably go with the combo of Studio Press and Premise, but for right now, I have learned this one pretty well so I can make the sites do what I want them to do with a minimum of coding.

    Optimize Press is awesome for a capture page, if you play and experience with the capture page section for a bit you'll get the hang of it in no time.

    In my experience, the conversions with an OP lead capture page are excellent

    Make sure you've backed up your previous wordpress themes so that if something does go ape sh*t you can keep fixing and tweaking until you get it right!

    speaking as a newbie I will go for placing the squeeze page on the site and look at it for a number of weeks to see it's results. You will then know if to leave it on and build your list or remove it.

    Why not just direct people to the lead capture page first if you are focused on list building.

    If you're running a blog on the main site just add an aweber form to the sidebar, or at the bottom of every post with the WWSGD plugin.

    Check out Squeeze Mojo its a complete blog, marketing system, squeeze of any kind etc.

    Yes this is my product but I am sharing because with Squeeze Mojo you can use ANY theme. Its 100% theme independent.

    Plus we have all of the bells and whistles, exit pop ups, etc.

    I took the plunge and decided to go to Optimizepress some time back. Figured one theme is better than having several - particularly when the tech side of things challenges me.

    Still learning it, but at least it has basically what i want.
