need to find a payment processor that'll do this....

Hi,

I need to be able to set up my product's order now button so that the customer orders, get's redirected to a download page, BUT doesn't get billed for 2 weeks.

I looked up some old posts and with the help of some warriors, I got a paypal button configured properly to do this... HOWEVER, it has this major customer turnoff content under the "terms" of the order page where it says:

Terms:
Free for the first 2 weeks
Then $97.00 USD for one month

Now, I'm pretty sure I can't get rid of that (I know I can change the number and whether it states "day" "month" or "year".... but still... it's confusing and I don't want to lose people on the order page because they're freaked out by it, you know?

So, if anyone can recommend a payment processor that'll allow me to do what I need and be able to adequately customzize the order page that'd be great!

Thanks,
Rebecca

    Rebecca,

Any reason why you would not want to disclose those terms to customers?

It's not really that much of a "turn-off" if it's stated in your sales letter. Plus these type statements generally help keep refund requests to a minimum.

It's not that i don't want to disclose the terms... it's that the terms do NOT accurately explain how the customer is going to be billed.

The paypal button is set up to not charge the customer until 2 weeks. and that's what i tell them in their sales letter.

when i set the button up the terms say:

      "Terms:
Free for the first 2 weeks
Then $97.00 USD for one month"

i don't know about you, but that sounds shady to me, and it doesn't accurately represent the payment process, you konw?

there has to be a source out there that allows one to implement this in a professional, clear way.

      does anyone have any suggestions?

      thanks

If you have your own merchant account you can authorize the payment and then 2 weeks later complete the order.

Authorization basically makes sure the money is on the card, blocks that amount but does not take it off the card until you complete the order.

For my own merchant account I authorize all payments right away and then at the end of the day in batch complete the orders. That way it is much cheaper to do refunds if needed and you get to check the transactions for fraud.

Why don't you just give them free access for first 2 weeks and ask them to purchase? If they don't purchase, their membership expires. Less complicated.

you could also use 1shoppingcart & authorize.net (real merchant account)

I see lots of guru's using this for $1 trials. you may have to adjust the offer and the sales copy a bit to sell it as a $1 trial instead of a free trial.

otherwise if I was in your position i'd just use the paypal button as is and not worry about the wording.
