I have reached 1,000 email subscribers...Now what?

I want to start profiting from these email subscribers, but I have not been able to come up with any ideas on how to profit. I typically only use adsense to make money.

Any help is appreciated.

Set up an Auto-Responder series and monetize the emails.

Have you sent your subscribers any emails at all?

How long has it taken to reach the 1000 subscriber mark?

Start by getting some great free content you give your list. Don't bombard them with products or anything; you want to start building up a relationship with them, and the best way to do this is by having great free stuff to give them.

Once your relationship has been built, you can begin to drip feed recommendations. Try and create events around your list as well.

I would recommend learning a little about email marketing before jumping in; check out some free resources on this forum about writing excellent email copy. It's important to get your message across in the best way possible, if you don't, some people will be put off - even if you offer free stuff!

      Good luck.

That is some great advice. I will definitely look into email marketing before getting started.

        Some background:
it took me 3 months to build up to 1,000 subscribers

They receive an email every time I make a new post (because of Wordpress default newsletter program)

I have not tried anything to monetize yet.

1000 in 3 months is a good effort mate, some people take a year to get 100 people on their list; so you're doing something right

What methods did you use to build your list? Is it targetted?

It's excellent that your posts have been going out to your list, because in a sense that creates a relationship and warms them up to you, too. Have you been tracking how many people open your emails?

Do you have an auto-responder or is this all from WordPress subscribers?

Um...what you're already "doing" is email marketing. Looks like "build a list" was incomplete advice too. You should have an autoresponder series already set up to deliver more great content and relevant product offers to these readers. Every person that you have brought in (and continue to bring in) is potentially a waste if they're just sitting their doing nothing.

Don't think of them as honey (which is good forever), new subscribers are more like ice cream left out on the counter: forget about it/them and you just wasted your time (and potentially money).

Pretty much what i said, set up a funnel, build a relationship by offering epic free stuff and then try and sell them something they need.

I dont know how you are going to monetize the casting stuff though, what are your plans?

If you have a service or product that your subscribers will want send the the offer!
I do all the time. A business opp or a product related to the subject matter on your
website may produce income if sent to the list.

I think I know what you mean - are you using an actual auto responder like Aweber or Getresponse or are you using a Wordpress plugin to capture your subscribers?

      Which autoresponder are you using?

Aweber has a pretty good plug-in that will allow you to put any of the standard template forms into your sidebar in < 1 minute if you know what you are doing and have the form set up already.

Ultimately if you don't know what you are doing then this a simple task that should be outsourced. Just remember to give examples of blogs you have seen where you like the style of the opt-in.

Almost any form can be copied / reverse engineered, just remember that it may mean you need to buy a plugin or pay extra for graphics to be custom made via photoshop.

Build a relationship with that list. The worst thing you can do is begin to market to them without even introducing to them who you are.

Show them who YOU are, build rapport with them.

"These email subscribers" as you so endearingly call them could potentially make you money but not if you think that they are your personal ATM.

Here's a novel idea, why not try and build a relationship, provide them with first class info related to the niche they signed up in etc.
Gain there trust instead of coming across as a blood sucker and maybe you will actually "profit" from them....

Why did you even bother building the list when you haven't thought of/don't know any ways to monetize it...

... Surely you should have planned out where you wanted your business to go, shouldn't you?

Now, due to poor planning what if you find out that, that particular niche is hard to monetize, or maybe super unresponsive or something...

Then you're screwed, 3 months down the drain - then you got to do it all over again.

IM is a business, and should be treated that way.

This is kinda' the harsh reality but it's true.

On the other hand, congrats on reaching the 1000 subscriber and I hope that the list is responsive for you.

But, a whole lot more planning should have been put in place before you went for this venture.

Yeah it seems you have gone for the first part and left out the money making.

You need to figure out a way to monetize, build trust, and get clicks on your ads at the same time.

You pretty much need to make sure the offers you put out are about 'being an actor.' That means something like 'acting classes' or a 'list of agents.'
