Yeah!
One of my articles that I posted on my site is ranking well in Google for my main keyword. This my first (or highest) ranked article!

So...what do I do next?
(I don't want to miss a great opportunity to push it even higher.)

- Should I write more content on my site that points to THAT article?
- Should I backlink like crazy on blogs, forums, etc. - to that article?
- Anything else?!?

Eileen?

    Awesome!

Make sure you have it directing towards your opt-in!!!

Send it out EVERYWHERE - Facebook, Twitter, etc. etc.

Link back to it in future posts with your ranked keyword.

All in all, make it work for you - get those opt-ins!

When you say 'send it our EVERYWHERE'....do you mean a link to that specific article?!? (...so, basically try to get a backlink to that specific article everywhere?)

        Hi Eileen,

Yes! If I had an article rank for my sites' keywords, I would be posting that article all over and referencing back to it often.

You could even use a blog commenting strategy and comment on CommentLuv blogs and select that post to show up on the comments list.

Here is a good list - List of CommentLuv Enabled Blogs

        Hope that helps!

          Hey Christine...

Thanks for the reply. Just to be clear...my strategy has been to comment on blogs and forums with my website URL for a backlink to my website. Now that I have a post on my website ranking...should I abandon that strategy and start backlinking to the specific post?

Sorry if I'm not completely understanding. ;-)

          Thanks.

          Eileen

No, no worries at all - oh, I see what you're asking, linking to the specific post...

Yes, that would get you some link juice - so if instead of having your website in your sig, you would have the keywords pointing to the post URL.

Are you also building your email list?

You can feature it on your home page if it makes sense. If you already built backlinks to your root domain, if that main keywords is included in the domain name or if you can use that article as a static home page, your could get even better results.

Good link building campaign should also improve your rankings. Without going into too much details, I would just recommend that you use long tail variations of your main keyword. It will help your article rank well for related long tail keywords and bring you even more organic traffic.

More related content is always good and don forget to link back to your main article.

Hope this helps, feel free to ask if you need more specific advice
