Coders: How Much Would Something Like This Site Cost?

Dear all,

I've always had this ambition of creating my own online game - and now that I'm starting to gain access to a number of funding options (including, but not limited to, self-funding), I'm considering looking into the matter further.

I was wondering how much it would cost to outsource the development of something like:

Race War Kingdoms Free Online RPG - No Downloads Required
Duels

I am not associated with it in any way, except that I used to play that game several years ago.

I honestly don't know the first thing about coding - so that's why I'd need to outsource the development of the technical side of things.

Some kind of a pricing idea would be very appreciated!

    I've seen a few MMP sites up on Sitepoint lately, probably better then coding/launching/building from scratch.

    Price Range $1500 - 4500.

    If you are wanting to create your own RPG online and depending upon complexity and features you are looking at around $8,000 - $10,000 - Of course this estimate is based upon me doing the work, everything I build is 100% from scratch. I use no open source codes or free codes.

    The time it would take to build a proper online RPG website would be 4 - 6 months.

    James, when you provided that price quote, were you thinking more along the lines of RWK or Duels? Or would the pricing for both be roughly similar?

      The price quote I gave is based upon me building 10,000's of websites over the years from basic html to very high dynamic websites. I developed the most comprehensive incentive freebie script on the market that is unmatched + many other sites and scripts I have built. What I am factoring in is the fact that many technologies will be required here such as ajax, flash, and etc.. Also there may be an option for payment processing, not sure but again why I estimated that cost.
