Clickbank check bounced!

Hi,

Just wondering if i could get some advice, I reveieved a check from click bank for about 90 USD and deposited it into my NZ bank account, now my bank has advised me that there were not enough funds in clickbanks account to cover the deposit and have subsequently withdrawn the money, which has left me NZ account overdrawn by about $200. I have contacted click bank and they have assured me that there is no reason for this and have sent through a scanned confirmation that the check was cleared at wells fargo bank.

Anyway, Im having a difficult time resolving the issue. Has anyone had any experience with checks from click bank bouncing/dishonoured? Do you have any advice you could give me, because i feel like i am being totally ripped off.

Thanks for reading

Once you've received three paper checks from Clickbank you can go to your account at CB and change the method of payment to direct deposit; then future payments are immediately cleared as soon as they arrive in your account.

That service is available in Australia. I assume it's also available to NZ residents.

I've recieved dozens and dozens of paper checks from CB and yet in my account it shows that the only payment option is via checque. Is there a way to enable the other payment options?

In addition to having receive paper checks, you also have to have a certain number of payouts within I think it's 90 days. They have information about qualifying on their site.

      Ummm.............. WHAT??? lol

I have received several checks from Clickbank, none had any issues. Since CB says that check went thru on their end, but your bank is saying otherwise, you should ask YOUR bank to provide some proof that the check bounced.

The bank i am dealing with was Westpac. They sent trhrough a letter saying that the check bounced. The funds were available after about 30 days but the check bounced after that period (yes..after i spent the money of course..hence the overdraft) they say that the checks can be dishonoured even after a year... i have made about a grand USD all up so i would hate to see all those bounce...

I will take your advice and talk to the manager...

also i can scan the letters/emails if anyone is interested to see the correspondence between myself and clickbank...
but be warned... things can be a real headache especially for us overseas affiliates

I doubt that CB is cutting rubber checks, DD. Maybe the person tried to deposit it too late...I think you only got 90 days to do something with a CB check.

Sounds like your bank is screwing with you and blaming clickbank.

Yeah trust me, it certainly isn't Clickbank....like someone said before, they're one of the few places on earth that don't have ANY money worries. It's your bank. Good luck!

Although my Clickbank money is now direct deposited I used to get Clickbank checks every 2 weeks and never had a problem. It may have been because they send US money and it has to be converted to NZ and some one messed it up.
Hopefully you have it straightened out now and found out it wasn't Clickbanks fault.

Ask your bank for the dishonour report. This is a recipt/document that shows the reason for the dishonour and is legal proof of a bounced check. Then you can take that to CB and ask them to cover the costs (if indeed it did bounce).

Having said that, I highly doubt that the check bounced and I would reckon that it is a westpac stuff up with teh clearance process. Clearing international checks can take up to 90 days in SOME cases. How quickly did they bounce the check?? I suspect this is likely just an administrative screw up at Westpac.

    Hi,

JFYI - clickbank cheques can bounce - I have seen at least a couple of different threads over the years here about this - although, as far as I remember, the problems were all eventually sorted out.

I am not sure if they bounce so much as the banks play chicken with us.

Australian and NZ banks are lothed to handle overseas money and quite often will take up to 6 weeks to put the funds into your account.

If they have any little hickup at all they just say not enough funds.

Come on Clickbank is a multi million dollar business and I am sure their bank would not bounce a $90 check.

Go into your bank and get the real reason and you will probably be given the one above.

Yeah I bet that is what people thought about Enron also.

C'mon people. Clickbank is a business. It is very possible that their checks can bounce.

Sure they are making millions a month or millions a day, but we don't know if they are over extended in debt, or legal worries, or spending faster then they are earning.

My point being is having trust in a company is one thing, but having absolute blind faith is not sensible.

    Hi Dave,

I had a similar issue to this

    When I queried clickbank about
this they provided an image of the
    check having been cleared and
    returned to them.

I explained all this to my bank and
only then were they able to admit
    they'd made an error when
    processing it.

    Frustrating times.

Hope it works out for you.

    Thanks Peeps!

Its encouraging hearing all your advice. Still not to sure what to do but the person i am dealing with at clickbank is more than helpful, he is going to reissue the check, even after he attached a confirmation of the funds clearing at wells fargo.....very helpful...which is more than i can say for the bank... thanks though.

i think this is bank issue,
in my 3th payment clickbank allow me to change from checks to ACH, so the 3th payment i got was in my virtual US account, so you only need 2 checks and then you can get the payment via ACH even in your New zeland account.
btw there are some money exchange which they buy USA checks like afex.
