INTERNET MARKETING

G`day,

could I please get some feedback on my site, I`m particularly
interested in the navigation ... don`t worry about lack of content
on any pages, that comes later. Anyway .. easy to navigate?

CJR DESIGNS

I`ve tested in FF and IE7, could anyone using any other browsers
chime in with how it looks ... especially if it`s displaying wrong ... I
have a lot of .png images so anyone with IE6 could you let me know
if all/most images show with the "ie6 hacks".

Homepage is HTML and most other pages are
.php so I can use includes. Here is the WP part ...

THEMES

I really hate WP ... lol ... for all it`s power it`s still a pig IMO

I`m not sure whether to have the Nav links from the HTML/PHP
part of the site included as a sub-menu for all the WP ... as it is
I have just the one link back to the Homepage ... see it!?

Anyway ....... check it out ....... critisizm or praise, I can
take it ... come back and give the site a Rating to thanks.

Can't speak for IE- (tried to download msn messenger and it now IE crashes the whole system every time I open it, will look into the fix one of these days)

All looks good in FF. I like the colors and the graphics.

The 'Feed Me' button makes me want to see "Audrey II- The Man Eating Venus Flytrap From Outer Space" and hear the voice of Levi Stubbs muttering that famous line.

to look like that ... I have smaller size so may
try 48x48 instead ... thanks.

Not at all sure what you mean by "the header
overlaps with the CJR Designs logo" ... do you
mean this page (homepage is HTML .. not WP)

I can easily reduce the font size or move it to
the left some which I think I`ll do, I created the
header after coding the text in the center ... it
won`t take much to offset.

Nice design, but why the header area is empty. I saw that the header information is moved below... But this way you are not using the header. There's no need it to be empty.

Or maybe my browser renders it so?

the header area isn`t empty at all, what you see is the background.

The header is actually beneath the menu with top offset 100 to show
the background effects ... you`ll notice the background "sun glare" shows
on the header to ... it`s on the header itself ... I don`t use photoshop

I tried it in Firefox, worked fine for me. I am not very experienced with rating websites like yours, but it looked quite good to me. Maybe people with more experience in web design could give you more advice.

You better be glad I like blue cause that's a whole lot of blue.

I don't see a header either. Like 2 inches at to totally blank. It would be nice to have a header there.

I specifically made it blue so you don`t get annoyed hun ..

The header ..*sigh* .. is below the menu ... what did you
do when you saw there was "no content" in the header?

Click away fuming there was "no header"

  background ... thing is it ruins the colour blending so the
  colour will stay as is. ... It doesn`t "strain" your eyes IMHO.

LOL ... yer sure ...

Setting up the "Buy Now" button in the shape of a Raccoon now

One thing I can`t "test" ... my favicon .. I changed it recently but
I`m still getting the "cached" version ... I think .. lol ... can someone

I think it's "butt ugly"...thats also what i voted.

I personally dont like the colors and the font, and the navigation is ANYTHING but clear. Actually, you "splattered" your links all over the site.

It might be my personal taste preference on my side, but i think you would be WAY better off taking one of 10Mil free themes/templates....or maybe look into artisteer.

The reason is that it looks like you are spending a lot of time and work into designing what's already out there for free?

I really really like the theme but I find the blue is almost a little overpowering...there seems to be quite a lot of different shades and it almost feels like it needs something to break it up.

Anyway, im no designer and my wife says I cant even pick out clothes...so take that with a grain of salt lol

Dude, it's soooo bluuuuue. Very low contrast but nav bar looks good. I know, white is boring but it's clean and that's why the pros use it.

I agree with most others that there is too much BLUE !!!

Also when I clicked on the Products Page button the new page came up with your template half cut off and stuff overlapping?

You caught me when I was editing which is why the site
was messed up ... had to reinstall the plugin that runs the
products page you viewed.

ok i can tell you where my "criticism" is coming from.

Because i dont see anything "special" about your design what is not in any other, already freely available theme...so i don't understand why you spent time designing this (by hand i assume). A theme like this anyone with two left hands can churn out using artisteer in 20 seconds.

You have a side-bar, you have a menu bar, all looks very plain/standard...but in addition you have more links withing the actual content....thats what i mean with "splattered all over"...there is no consistency where the user actually needs to click...its anything but clear to navigate.

Dont get me wrong..i know the feeling having created something on your own. But its just that i *think* you could spend time wiser using artisteer or even a free theme instead of spending time on something, which, at the end, is just another very non-special standard theme. Menu bar, side bar...big deal...

There is also more to it...eg. is it widget-ready? Things like that.

And yes, colors and fonts are a matter of personal preference.

By the way..what is your site's market? I myself am certainly not after "thousands of uniques"...i wish...lol. But seriously....you want to use this site as a presentation site for WP designs/themes? Did you ever see one of the current "premium themes"....or really GOOD (even free ones)..and you think that your theme can compete in terms of designs/features???

(The "banner" page is just there for visitors to have fun)

Then you "BTW ...what is your site's market?" .. lol

No matter what you "think" ... it is special mate
... I created it, it`s not for sale, most importantly ...

it`s for testing ...

... and the data collected from
that testing shows beyond doubt the navigation works
perfect ... for what I was testing it for ...

... not for what you "assume".

I won't repeat things, but I kept waiting for the header image to load.. seriously.. which wasn't there at all

Adding a matching (web 2.0) header image across the width of the template would really help, and try to change the font style of CJR Designs..

I'm using Safari, and it looks great to me. It loaded fast and looks nice. I like your color scheme.
