Where has all my traffic gone....

I have a blog with consistently 70+ visitors per day for over a year and then yesterday traffic right down to 3 visitors

I put the domain into Google search and my site still displayed and listings were showing below with pages from my site.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this might have happened and is there anything I should do at this point

Thanks

It seems you were getting traffic from long tail keywords you were not targeting. Now you're not. I wouldn't be worrying about dropping from 70 to 3 visitors a day. My concern would be how on earth are you only getting 70 visitors a day after a year.

Work harder and get your links out there in more quality places. Simple.

Google can change the position of your site as it sees fit. Sometimes new sites start off ranking well and then disappear for a while. Just keep on adding quality content and your listing will come back.

At least I have found this to be the case with my sites.

    Moneyland,

Did you stop posting quality and relevant blogs? What were your sources of traffic before this thing happened? If one of your sources of traffic is Facebook, did you stop posting on Facebook?(that's just an example though).

I strongly recommend you take a look at this thread. It may well be part of your problem.

Latest Google update hits almost every website that has exact match domain with low quality.

This is why I prefer paid traffic, it never goes away!

70 visitors a day after all that time is very bad. I would analyze what steps you are taking to increase SEO and really look at if its an effective plan.

Are you saying the site was still ranking? If so, it might be premature to assume it's Google re-ranking your emd lower...just a thought.
