What's wrong with me?

I know it's very very important to get educated before approaching in this IM industry... and I do believe that I have pretty much covered everything that I need to know to get started.

Even though I'm still new to this forum, but I have been educating myself for quite a while now.

I have hostings, I have several domains, i have autoresponders, I hosted squeeze pages, setup sales funnels, I have authority sites, I have released products, I tried CPA marketing, I try Facebook ads, buysellads, paid directory listing..

I'm also familiar with building websites(not too much of design), kind of good at photoshop, not too confident at writing..

What I'm trying to say is that I try to educate myself by trying them all, but I am only currently focusing on the authority site, and list building...

But what's wrong with me? My money in bank is growing negatively (expense > income), what am I doing wrong here? I seriously need some advices :/

I know money doesn't come over night, but I've been trying months already..

Please, someone? I really really need someone to guide me

------

UPDATE:
After reading everyone's replies, I know where my problems are now.
Traffic, I'm missing the traffic source that turns every effort of my time and investment into sales -- without traffic I can't even split-test, or see if my squeeze page converts.

AND even though it's hard but I know I have to focus, I mentioned all that methods, and techniques above because I was trying to prove I have been reading lots before asking.

What I'm concentrating at now is my list building in the IM niche (giving away useful tools, since I can't give out false claims of making certain amount of money yet), and authority site w/ opt-in boxes (which builds lists, too).

I know there are heaps and heaps of ways out there to get traffic, but what are some of the better ways to get traffic so that I can start seeing little conversions, and so I can start improving from there?

Thanks for all the replies! Really appreciate it.

From your post, it's 100% Safe to say that you have the knowledge to build web businesses but the problem is...you are not making money or enough money.

How much traffic are you getting to your sites? If it's quite a decent amount of targeted traffic then you ought to re-approach or "tweak" your monetization methods.

      Hi,
You have done lot of things...
But I think you should try few things for your site and try to do few things by yourself if you want to save funds rather than outsourcing....Then when your earning grows increase outsourcing or spending again

      Thank you
      My 2 cents

Are you competing in a competitive niche? Maybe you need to re-evaluate your choice of niche and choose one with less competition. What is currently the size of your list?

First off, there is nothing wrong with you.

You might have the wrong focus or currently lacking in different skills, but focus you can change, and you can always learn the skills you need.

So there is nothing wrong with you.

With that being said, what I notice in what you wrote above is you never mentioned anything about the people you are trying to sell to.

Have you educated yourself on market research?

And I don't mean SEO and Keyword research, there is a difference.

Do you know or have a really good idea of who your target market is?

Do you know what they really, really want?

What questions do they have that they desperately want answered?

What problems and frustrations are they running into that they desperately want solved?

In other words, what are the "hot buttons" of your audience? What gets them to move and take action?

If you don't know the answer to any of these things, then it makes it harder for you to know what to write in your autoresponder series, and harder to know what to write in your ads to make people click on your links.

Also, have you educated yourself on Copywriting?

Researching your target market will help you know what their "hot buttons" are, thus giving you an idea on what to write. And Copywriting willl teach you how to write so it is most effective.

Developing these two skills will give you a very powerful combination

This is a common problem with marketers...

So is the belief that they are overloaded with things to do.

SEO, graphics, content, product creation, list building...

There are actually only a few tasks that you need to be doing to make money online, namely content creation and marketing.

So where do you think your problem lies?

Why not drop us a link to your pages/blogs etc so we can see a bit further into it?

It's advice that you probably already know and don't want to hear but why are you letting anything get in the way of success? What is it in you that is holding you back?
To break through needs a certainty and determination in every action that you take. A knowing that no matter what happens you will take the necessary and right actions to make it happen.

That might come as a coaching program or extensive research into your market and their beliefs, feelings and desires. When you look at your business objectively what do you think is standing in your way?

What are you trying to achieve? What goal or vision do you have?

    Write it down fully...

Then find out the steps that you need to take to get you from A to B and set up some daily commitments that you know or believe will get you there.

Some questions on here are so broad that its hard to answer and yours is like that. Focus is the key for you I think.

Ellie, IM is hard to crack and make a living off of. It takes a long time to learn all the ends and outs, and especially to break even, and even more so to start making money.... keep at it, keep learning. There are many ways to make money out there. You say in your post that your main concentration is on your authority site. Have you been able to get steady targeted traffic to it? Without traffic you have nothing, without conversions you have nothing. So how are your ranking? The top 10 thing is a total BS myth. If you want to see any kind of reasonable return on your site you need top 5, and more like top 3 SERP rankings to see good organic traffic. If yo're not ranking, your not converting. Even if that is the case, try different traffic sources. PPC and Media Buys will very quickly let you know if your site has any potential at making money. I know it's another expense, but you're better off knowing right away if the niche you've gotten yourself into is going to work out in the long run.

Best of luck.... Never give up.

    Don't give up Ellie!

Get more focused on one thing (one niche, one website, one area), and figure out what is not working..

Are you getting traffic (relevant traffic that is) and not converting?
    or
    Not enough traffic.

Have you made a decent amount of sales, but spent too much on ppc ?

What is it that's not working (exactly)?

Take a little break, and come back to it with a clear mindset.

    You can do it..

    Best,
    Liz

    Hi Ellie,

Fill in your profile here with a signature file, then we can visit your site.

It could be that you're a jack of all trades, but master of none, don't mean to be harsh here, but you should focus on what you are good at.

Do you know how many leads you need to generate to make a sale? How many sales do you need to make each month to break even? If you bought advertising has it returned a profit, or least generated leads who buy things from your broadcast / follow-up messages?

Can you create a premium package with some 1:1 consulting to maximise the marketing funnel. Give your list as many chances as possible to send you money.

Overall just keep on going and start networking with people who are getting the results you want to achieve.

    Good luck

You are currently focused on your authority site and list building, yes? Seems to me you are focusing on seo and paid advertising from what I can gather. My opinion is to pick the paid advertising and use your authority site for building rapport with the subscribers on your list - and quit spending money on seo for the authority site. Pick a couple of paid methods and just learn how to master those. You will have to learn how to research your market to find out EXACTLY who your target audience is. Without knowing this, advertising becomes a struggle. This could be the reason your ad campaign aren't working.

So, research your market. Find out what's selling well. Create a landing page around this with a freebie to give away. Create ads targeting the exact demographic you researched. Drive targeted traffic to your page. Tweak campaign until you are happy with conversions.Build a relationship with your subscribers by sending quality information. Send subscribers to your authority site with great content to build rapport as well as stamping your authority in this niche.

Without knowing what you are doing every day, it's difficult to know where you are going wrong. You could be targeting the wrong keywords. You could be writing crap ad copy. You may be in a niche that's hard to monetize. You could be using rubbish PLR content to build your brand. God knows what you've been up to.

You are making so many things together.
I could assume that you forget for days about the others and just let them go, hoping one day to write an article that will put your site to the first spot in google and then make money.
Also this thread, I can see that after you started it you didn't replyed to anyone who tried to say something useful so probably you are working on something else at the moment and you will remember to come back and control this in a few days or weeks.

First of all, focus on 1 thing.
Decide what you want to do, decide what you like to do more and focus on that.
If is an authority site, make a plan and have 1 or 2 goals every day. Don't work on anything else until you don't reach the goals and remember to check your progress daily.

Is hard to keep track of too many things when you don't have the full control of not even one of them. When you feel that you have the control on one of the methods then you can move to test another one but testing too many things in the same time is not a good idea.

Sounds to me you have all the correct elements to success in place? However is what your providing the prospect with, the solution to their specific problem?

I have read a lot of the posts above and, there's been a lot of valuable information given. So what could i add that would be beneficial or full of valuable? Let me give it ago

I hope i am not reinforcing what you may already know, You have the basic understanding of internet marketing. Many individuals may select a niche as they are aware that the returns can be great. All the stories you hear, people making millions from a certain niche.

I read you have a lot of domain names? Are they related to your specific niche? Have you taken the time to research your key words, Do your keywords in Google show a high number of results/searches by people? A high number of results may indicate that there is a market there but be weary as there will greater authorities out there which would swallow you up if you may decide to enter.

Look deeper into your niche, micro niches?. You can outsource the job of creating a survey to your selected niche, ask real people about their real problems. i.e The niche of weight loss, its so so broad, you need to really get deeper into the niche, how about being specific, How to lose weight from you thigh? or how to lose fat from your lower stomach, or your arms, make sense?.

Now you could easily outsource the task of getting the research completed for you. Remember this is key, Create leverage, time = leverage, value= leverage. Give others the time consuming task whilst your manager other important tasks.

So based on your findings from market research you could then, create a product orientated around that specific micro niche. You don't need to be an expert about that product but be able to know more about that product then your prospects, As this will be valuable when considering answering questions and conducting webinars. I found that if you should focus on one specific niche and strategy at first, and avoid trying a variety of things as you will not succeed.

There are many warriors here that can create good sales pages, and alter them into graphics and ultimately you could sell packages here on WF. Looks like you need to concentrate on one strategy at the start and then build yourself up.Once you have a working strategy you could theoretically apply that strategy into other niches you may enter

Ok here’s something I used which worked. I created a site, good keyword domain. I had a squeeze page in place which is connected to an auto responder. I then offered the prospect free product/eBook. This was orientated around my desired niche/market. However the ebook was full of value and real good honest information for free.

This encouraged prospect to sign up. Follow up emails in place via autoresponder. Then you send out good valuable newsletter and information. Earn the trust, and offer them a chance to tell you their problems and then create solutions and sell.
Getting traffic, there are so many ways of getting traffic. Real traffic can be obtained by many methods which I assume you are fully aware of. Paid traffic I find can be instant and refreshing. Subsequently get your authority out there, some methods blog, write app, market, ad swaps, media buying and so on.

There’s no doubt about it, you will succeed, keep telling yourself that and focus on one thing instead of diluting your focus onto a variety of strategies. If you fail at a task, don't let that fear of failure stop you from continuing. As humans we associate failure with pain. So we avoid pain but not trying again. Its all about mindset.

IIf you feel that you had failed at that, find out why, keep trying until it works, In the world of internet marketing its all about learning, Some times you win and sometimes a strategy may not work, but you don't just give up right?

Think I’ve written loads now! But keep it simple and look at every one else, what are they doing? What are they selling and how, and remember there’s no competition, call it networking, everyone else one another to make money

Trying this for months is not a long time. If you had said "years", it would be different, but you are developing some well-rounded skills obviously.

I would advise you to take the skills you have developed and offer VA services to someone successful on this forum. Then you can see how they are setting up things and become familiar with the person and get some mentorship that way.

One of the best things I did to figure out how to make money online was by becoming a CSR for one of the "gurus". I answered support tickets, did WP installs and configuration of his plugins for his clients.

He always answered my questions and I learned a lot about many things I did not know at the time, and I ended up banking on that knowledge later.

Ellie.... what do you know about MARKETING? Meaning, what do you know about pairing the right product with the right people?

Have you learned how to do keyword research correctly?

IM is a pretty in-depth subject. Don't expect to learn everything in a few months..... It took me literally over 2 years to learn how to market correctly and it wasn't until then, when all of the pieces of information that I had learned started fitting together, that I started making a $100k+ income online.

There are a LOT of different puzzle pieces to fit together and things are changing ALL the time.

    Test new techniques out.

    Fail over and over again.

    Eventually you will succeed.

You have been lost in the midst of constantly trying things. While it is good that you keep on trying because that is where you learn, you still need to look out for your money.
