Hi everyone lam linking to directories, article writing social networking
posting to forums linking my blogs.
Is their any other way l get targeted traffic to my website free if possible

What is your website about? Then do a search on google for that keyword (the phrase your website is about), and try and get a link on the first 50 pages on the search results.

That's targeted with a capital T. =)

For targeted traffic you can try distributing press release, Creating profile and promoting your blogs/articles over social media sites.

Add video sharing sites and podcasting directories.

Also submit your rss feeds.

Don't underestimate the power of blog commenting. Your link will get clicked if you submit useful comments.

I think thats the question on every ones lips - how to get free traffic, and lots of it.

Try:
- ebay
- Craigs list
- social bookmarking
- squidoo or hub pages
- newspaper classifieds
- PRweb
- Forums

Hi,
I think a free e-book idea is great. Do you have a flagship freebie that you're giving away? Something that's very valuable to people, but you give it out for free. Kind of like with Michael Fortin's 10 Commandments of power positioning. He gave it out for free, even though it's very valuable, and it set them up as an expert, and gave him a lot of traffic.

I don't like Michael Fortin particularly because I believe that he played a dirty or two ago when he was decreasing the price of the copy doctor and said that he would increase it later but he never actually did. What's more he stopped updating the website.

It is not my point to complain about him, but I do want to say that having a great freebie that you're giving away will do wonders for your website.

That special ran twice. For a limited time. The price did go up after on both occasions -- the first was in 2007 (it was my company's 10th anniversary special).

After a year, I decided to try it again.

Then I tried it a third time I decided to leave it at that price because split-tests showed that the price was selling better.

I haven't stopped updating it -- I just don't do critiques as often as I used to. Plus, in the interim I've added a ton more other things -- bonuses, extras, freebies, etc -- to compensate.

In fact, you must have seen that the site has been completely moved and integrated with the Success Chef family of products, as well as the membership software upgraded. It's now all on one page (all the videos as well as all the audios, bonuses, etc).

Anyway, I'm sorry you feel that way.

For targeted traffic, the most effective method I have come across is PPC - Google Adwords + Adbrite = TRAFFIC, when mixed with a killer AD. I have been in IM for the last 4years, I am new to this forum btw!!, and that is the best method ive seen by far, for 'quick' or 'instant' traffic!

Adbrite is very targeted, so alot of your potential buyers will be looking to buy. Saying that, demographics on adwords can also be changed for effective targeting!

Twitter sends the majority of my traffic to my website. Build up a lot of Twitter followers, tweet useful information several times a day, link to interesting posts on your website - you're golden.

This would not work as well if you were just sending people to a sales page or squeeze page though.

Free Targeted Traffic can be tough but below are some ways that i do it,

Search Yahoo! Answers for users who pose questions about your niche and list specific pages on your site as sources when answering questions about certain products.

Create an RSS feed for your site and submit it - Feedage, FeedRaider, 2RSS, Feedest etc.

There are also free ways to obtain links and create general exposure on the web. and that by creating Squidoo lenses, Hubpages, WordPress Blogs, Associated Content pages , Wetpaint etc. that link back to your website or specific pages on your site. Just remeber to keep it relevant.
