Your inquiry is vague, so I can only give a vague answer. You need to figure out how to reach the audience that would be interested in the topic related to your product.

You're a fool if you believe that product launches are cookie cutters. There is no best way that covers all situations. Without knowing details, it is impossible to recommend a particular approach.

Set up a few PPC/PPV campaigns, get hundreds of thousands of visitors to your offer, make a ton of sales and get it ranked #1 on the Marketplace.

I personally think, a soft launch with a select few JV's after you have found that it's converting to cold traffic first is always a good play because then you can get better numbers for your affiliate and JV base - and good numbers will take you a long way.

Have a ready market and JV partners list. You can either have the market as blog readers or in a subscribers list. If you don't have that, try to contact as many partners as you can while giving them an attractive offer - you may need to go to the extent of providing 100% commissions just to get some valuable partners to say yes and sometimes that's not even enough.

As long as there is a market waiting for your product, then you can have a successful launch in terms of considerable number of sales. But if you are looking to have a 5 or 6 figure launch, that's an entirely different question.

If you have a decent following, you might create a sales funnel. Give out bonuses for e-mails, but you will also need a help from JVs and other affiliates to drive lots of traffic. Test everything. And it depends on your goal. If you want to build a list for future big launches, give out 100% commission to affiliates. You can build great list of buyers that way.

If you expect to earn lots of money, it's a good idea to let the Paypal or your other payment processor know about the launch. Test buy button, price, give conversion stats, etc. to your JVs. Prepare videos or emails so they (JVs) can use them for pre-selling and selling on your launch day.

Publicity can attrack the right persons... And I think this is your case, getting the proper people. Maybe you should invest in some ads arround local websites or services!

    Here's what I've done:

    1. Get some early reviewers/champions, this can be done by running a webinar and signing up 10-15 "beta" customers who fit the bill with your ideal customer, do a "beta" launch with a segment of 1-2 partner lists, offer as a freebie or low-cost WSO to get your initial "beta" list, etc...What you really want here are testimonials and raving fans about getting results with your program

    2. Have them work through your program, make tweeks to both the program itself and/or messaging based on their feedback - this can make a huge difference, having customer input is the best type of input. I had one program where the customer actually suggested I put UP the price by double based on what he saw in the prgram - turned out to be a much better price point.

    3. Create pre-launch content, a couple of videos, emails for your affiliates to send out, graphics to post to their pages, explanation of the program on dedicated affiliate landing page, etc... You may also want to consider running a contest here - these can work very well. I did this last time I launched and will do it again.

    4. Set up a 1-2 week pre-launch schedule where you contact your partners to let them know when and how to promte your pre-launch content

    5. Recruit, recruit, recruit - you want to find partners any way you can...contact cold and have them review your product, friends of friends, JV announcement sites (there are several now)...you only need a few good quality partners to make it a success.

    6. Launch - making sure you have a good system of affiliate tracking so sales, refunds, declined payments are all handled reliably and you can track proper activity for your partners. I've used 1ShoppingCart, not sure it is the best, but it worked for my launches
