You Ever Had a Real Launch Party?

You know with mass loads of booze, tables of food, music, friends, family, potential customers, business partners...?

I have previously popped the top off a few frothies with my partner and mates but am now considering a real LAUNCH PARTY for my next venture.

Im thinking ice buckets filled with beer, music (DJ), BBQ, banners with the logo and web address, t-shirts etc.

I think there is some real value in this, it gets people talking, adds to social marketing and makes people (if only friends and family) feel a part of your business or venture so this way when you do officially launch instead of standing around scratching their heads they are actually apart of it.

Has anyone done anything like this? Like to share your story?

Cheers

-Andrei

I've known of a company that blew $300,000 on a launch party at an affiliate convention. End result? They were selling the launched site for $30K (way less than their costs). Lesson: focus on the quality of people who attend not the QUANTITY...

Don't forget to invite the media.

When I had a brick and mortar business I had launch parties regularly. They are such a great way to give back to your customers, staff and the community. I always invited the media and they always showed up. I could never have afforded the type of advertising I received from these events.

I found the key was to partner with a charity.....it's a perfect example of "what you give will come back two-fold".

How about a launch after party? More money to spend on drinks

Haha yeah. I don't know, I think times have changed.

Did you see the news report about the riots in Holland? That party was posted as public on facebook. Same as our little friend Corey Worthington In Narre Warren Victoria right near where I live, he became an overnight sensation after posting a party on facebook too (his neighbors where not too happy).

I've been to one, and it seemed like a wasteful event. Not to say that I didn't enjoy myself, but it definitely didn't highlight the product.
