Recommend free software microsoft word document recovery?

A colleague of mine just lost a word file she's been working on for 2 days, she does claim to have been saving it hence the fact it's been a 2 day work in progress, I've tried the usual methods to recover it recycle bin, windows search system etc, i even downloaded word recovery and doc recovery, but they are limited trial, can anyone recommend a free software that does the same? Since this is a freak occurrence she's of course reluctant to pay $70 for the full version of those I just mentioned. Any ideas?

Thanks

Assuming it is still on her hard drive, did you try to search for the doc name. She may have saved it beyond the normal places.

ALso does it show in WOrd's recent docs or recovered docs in Word. Word has built in document recovery tools but I am assuming the file does not exist.

Recommend that she always turn on auto-save.

For me I guess no need to download a software. Because I have tried it so many times. Maybe, it is just the kind of MS Word processor. My MS Word processor is MS Word 2007 and it just directly recover my file even if I don't save it on my folder. Maybe, you could try to open her MS Word processor to see if there is a tab that shows her recently used word.
