Question on a Microniche

I would like input on something. I am writing a guide on aspergers (I have experience with it), and plan on writing on using it to your advantage, where to make friends, reducing the negativity of aspergers, and people you can trust to give you good advice. It will be 40+ pages, and I plan on selling it for 19.99. I have 3 keywords that have a combined search amount of 10800 (yes I know that is not exact, but still), and if I apply a one percent conversion rate, I get 107 sales, which is very conservative. Also, most of the top pages are yahoo answer pages, and the ones after that don't even use the exact term. And also, I can reserve a domain based on one of the keywords I will be targeting. Do you think I have a chance?

How do you plan to promote your book, what's your link building strategy (you mentioned search results so I supposed you're going to rely on organic traffic), are you going to bait visitors to subscribe to your e-mail list with free content or you plan to immediately sell them your product, will there be an affiliate program, is this your first product launch, who's going to write a sales letter, what's the hook, do you have proof that your product works.......?

This is my (that I wrote) ebook. I have had some experience with kindle, which I managed to earn some nice pocket change. I plan on maybe writing some articles on ehow, hubpage, etc., post my link on my signature on a forum related to the topic, maybe use yahoo answers, I have an affiliate program built into my host, which I will everage on my site, I will be writing the sales letter, the hook is I was diagnosed with it and have learned from my experiences over the past few years, which I would like to share, and not so much about general information, but about obsessiveness associated with it, reducing negativity, best places to make friends, the best people to get advice from, and to avoid putting your foot in your mouth. I believe this would be better than most books because I have actually expireienced these things and I am not writing from a general faq persepective, but more real life exprience. I am living proof. I am not perfect, but the whole point is to ease the pain associated with it (not eliminate it). The methods I have used have helped me tremendously, and I am a better and less sad person because of it.

There are a lot of people who have this or know someone who is affected by it, this is a very popular topic. So I think you will be able to make some good connections to help with your promotion.

You have got a great idea about what to write in your book that will help people live their lives, not just give facts and figures they can find anywhere, so I do think you have got a pretty good shot at being successful with this.

Well, keep in mine 10800 searches doesn't mean they will all land on your page. When you say it's not exact searches, do you mean that you're using broad keywords? That could mean there's in fact very little people looking for your keywords in particular, so I just wanted to double check that with you. Also, isn't 1% of 10800 actually 1080 rather than 108?

Test t he market before you have a product. Setup a page for it, start trying to get some traffic *while* you work on it. Pretend the book is done, and see if you can get anyone to your order page. If you do get sales, you can either just have it send them to an opt-in telling them the final version is coming soon, or you can call it a pre-order. Either way, to ensure you dont end up creating a product that doesn't have a hungry market for it, nobody says you have to have the book finished in order to start promoting it, you know?

If you can get people going to your order page, even if it's a dead-end at first, at least you'll know you're on the right track. If you CANT get anyone to your order page, do you really want to write a 40 page book still?

I know they won't, and that is why I was being conservative with 1%, even though the average conversion rate for most things is 3%, and 10,800X0.10 is 1,080 (0.10 is 10%), while 1% is 10,800X0.01, and instead of taking one zero off, you take two. And what I mean by not exact is the accuracy of the numbers. While I don't think they are off by much, people say Google keywords is not always spot on, so I kept that in mind. That is what I meant. And these keywords indicate people are looking for solutions, perhaps both free and paid. And so while I don't thing most people will pay, there will always be at least 1% who will. And what sets me apart from free information is I have solutions, not just general info.

What are the exact match search counts for your keywords?

I think you've got something that can be marketed. You may need to go after additional keywords. I would definitely consider a kindle version as well.

One of my children has autism & is high on the spectrum. Over the years we have carried out much research as I know others have.

Aspergers & Autism are subjects that those who are affected by it crave for information. You should create valuable content, provide useful tips, share experiences so that people warm to you.

A little while ago a product/support course was launched on ClickBank you may be able to link into that with your funnel.

      Good luck with your venture

Thank you sir. That would be a good idea. Maybe offer several books on several aspects of Aspergers. Btw, best of luck.
