The thing about domains is that you never know and you need to sit and wait. You can make some money off them being parked, you google park domain affiliates. The best place for domains will be at NamePros, you should check them up

Why wouldn't you pay $50 to learn a profitable new skill?

I know people that spend $100,000 on college.

$1000's on books and training every year.

If you aren't willing to invest in yourself it doesn't sound like you're too serious about it.

      Well said.

You should be serious to learn, and willing to invest.
      An one-time $50 for $500/weekly income -- why not?

Do you truly want to learn the business, or are you just looking for a quick solution? If the former, spend time at NamePros.com (as RenderTheWeb suggested) and DNforum.com.

Almost any niche can be profitable, you just have to do it right, as for your friend, i dont know what he will teach you so i can comment, if you trust him why not?

There is no get rich quick scheme. Specially on buying and selling domains. Like stated up above. It is a sit and wait game. On top of that you have to buy a lot of them to have a good ratio of selling them.

What it comes down to is the need. Think of websites you feel would be a good fit for certain companies and sell it to them as well as targeting related domains to buy you out...

Would be a good way to start, im buying several domains and working on them all, I believe the low cost is a relatively good investment.
