What do you think of coaching programs? Beneficial or not so Much

18 replies
Anyone here actually paid for a coaching program, followed through and it made a big difference in your business? If so what was the measure of the difference?
Did you go from zero to full time or it added what percent to your business?

    I get my online venture started through coaching program. It does helps a lot as I am able to learn lots of things and I know the things that I need to do. The problem that I am facing is having the discipline to stick to one system and take consistent action.

    You will want to make sure that you are following a mentor who is reliable and honest.

      Yes I know, it is hard to resist jumping ship from one thing to the next. Which is a sure recipe for failure. The equation for success is that 10 projects 99% done equalls $0 and 1 project 100% done equals $$$ in the bank.

      Even with knowing this it is still a struggle to focus on one thing!

      ►This system pulled in over 25,000 sales in 2013 right under your nose and you probably laughed at it. But while you were laughing we were laughing all the way to the bank. Some to the tune of 6 and 7 figures. This year 10 times...

    The are very good coaches here, but at the end of the day you have to be the one taking action on what you learn from them, and if they are the kind keeping tabs on you and what you are doing, ie. you answer to them, you will find it very beneficial and worth the money you pay for coaching Take consistent action every day.

    Coaching programs are awesome if you want all the information without having to sift through the fluff. They will often help focus your mind on 1 income stream or 1 marketing technique.

    You will find however that no coaching program offers a magic bullet - you aren't going to read information that you haven't seen before/isn't available online for free somewhere. Often you will read something in a coaching program that you have seen posted on a blog/forum previously.

    The benefit isn't the information - it is the commitment to actually stop reading and thinking about different ways to make money and actually start doing something that will make you money.

      I know to focus on one thing and still trying to reign that in, just wondering if coaching is the answer

    I think it depends on how disciplined you are.

    To give you a good example - when I'm not IM'ing I like to get to cycle. I decided I wanted to really push myself next season and compete in some races.

    I have been riding my bike for years and I know how to train but to push myself and get the most out of my training I realised that it was beneficial to get a coach. Not so much for the learning side but more for the fact that I am paying money for a service which motivates me and keeps me on track with my training.

    Some people are lucky and are super self motivated and these people probably wouldn't need a mentor but for those who need a little motivation a coach can be worth their weight in gold.

    I have my own mentor and went through his coaching and training in 2007 and in 2011, I created my own coaching program and coach/mentor people to become Internet Marketing Consultants for Offline Businesses. Most of my students are doing exceptionally well, the ones who aren't, either quit or never followed my advice.
    My point is...its not all about the quality of the mentor/coach, its about the person taking the course. Are they serious? Are they motivated? Do they believe in themselves.....
    Goodluck my friends !!!

      In your 2007 and 2007 coaching did you see a direct increase in your business? Was the coaching just about how to coach?

      Anyone elsehave coaching experiences?

        Coaching gives you personal interaction with an expert who's committed to your success. You don't get that with an info-product like an ebook or course.

      I think what you are looking for is a Mastermind Group.
      If you search thru this forum you will see others have formed them selves into these cells.
      Do research the concept first - they are an extremely powerful medium. These groups have been known to create big powerful enterprises.
      There are books on the subject - research research. If you manage to get invited - this is no ducking in and out like a coffee club. You are committed to the group for the agreed period of time. Often only five people. You may have to set your own group up. /HB

        I recently worked with a coach,
        I didn't turn out as good as I planned..

        It cost USD400 to have some one telling
        me they are proud of my work..

        He referred to himself as a 6 figure marketer and
        once even said he had a shirt to prove it..

        Each session we had, felt like it was all about him..

        In the end I asked for half my money back as he wasn't
        delivering from his end..

        He offered to do 1 solo ad for 4 weeks, instead of the refund..

        I agreed and drafted the ad, sent it through on a Monday,
        followed him up on Friday night as I still had had no response,
        regarding scheduling of the first mail out..

        He responded about 2 hrs later..

        It was then that I decided to terminate any and all arrangements
        with him as I was no longer willing to waste anymore of my time..

        To this day as far as I know he is still coaching..

        In hindsight I shouldn't have jumped in so fast,
        instead I should have asked more questions
        and shopped around a bit..

        What I would do different next time, is email them
        back and forth a few times and get to know them a bit
        first before going a head..

        I don't have any doubt that there are great coaches doing
        fantastic work out there..

        I just recommend taking your time to find one..

        Would I work with a coach again?

        Sure I would..

    I paid for an IM coaching course in 2009. At the time it was hard work learning all the various aspects of IM (and we only scratched the surface) and at the end of the year I hadn't earned anything worth talking about.

    with hindsight I can say the best thing that came out of the coaching is that I accelerated my learning curve by a large amount.

    Coaching can be real benefical if you take action and your coach is helping you 100%, showing you what he knows, that is if he is knowledgable of what he is learning. E.g there are people that have coaching program say in niche marketing but they are not doing it them self or have never done it before. I know because I have had some coaches before and the problem was not me it was them. They promised alot of thing but couldn't teach it or left me in the middle of things...

    But I know that coaching is the fastest way to succeed with everything if you get the right coach.

    I took Bill Smith's (called IMsince2003 here in warriorforum) coaching last week, he has a WSO in here, first I was suspicious at the beginning but after talking to him I took the coaching, The price wasn't so high either. But the things I have learnt from him this week has been amazing. E.g I have always struggled with keyword research and couldn't find keywords that were less competitive and high searched but Bill showed me his tricks and the his process and suddenly keyword research is not hard at all. It is FUN!!

    So coaching is great if you have the right Mentor and Coach...

    I think everyone needs a mentor. You can't do it alone! If you look at all the big name IM'ers out there I bet they had a coach or mentor... certainly at the start. Howerver, of course you have to take action, and persist and never give up when things don't go to plan. but yes I think a good coach/mentor is almost essential to success

    Hi,

    I've participated in coaching programs before, the most recent one was last month. And I enjoy them a lot. Here are tips on what's helped me the most in working with coaches:

    - Before signing up, review my own plans and pinpoint exact places I'd like help with in my business.

    - Set up measurable checkpoints along the way to make sure I'm getting the help I need. These are usually checking to see if I get more projects completed, better efficiency out of my day and / or among teammates, or more leads, clicks and / or sales.

    - Stop once you have reached your goals or if you are not quit reaching them, but feel you should, etc. (ie if you feel you maybe are not quite putting in the necessary time / effort into the program, or if maybe your coach cannot go further in helping you).

    - Re-evaluate things and keep moving ahead. Maybe later on down the road, another coaching program can pick up where that one left off after you fine-tune your own needs assessment again.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~
    On zero to full time and percent of business, that's difficult to say.
    One example is last month where I spent $40 for a month of consulting in a specific niche area of interest. The coach actually helped me with closing a $3,150 deal plus on similar deals down the road, I'm armed to tackle them.
    So yes, that was a wise investment. And I'd seek his help with more in that niche in the future, should I feel the need.
    Now $40 is not much. I've spent a couple hundred a month for other coaching. Some has helped a lot, for years, in their helping me revamp my sites, product lines, etc.
    What can help if you are looking for full time is to get help where you get contracts. Contracts = money.
    I have had 5 coaches in total..
    2 were absolute bullSH!T and just stole the money from me after giving me an hour of complete rubbish..
    Not only that but I spend hours implementing the strategies and got nowhere.
    But I have recently had some excellent coaching and I have had some amazing results.
