I have built my entire Ad campaign around a short video so there is a lot riding on it. (having only 1 method for lead generation is prob not the smartest thing to do)

I'm at the stage where it will cost me money to get exposure for the video so I am hoping its at least good enough to get people to take the next step (sign up for a free webinar)

Can you please look at it and tell me if I would be wasting my money by paying to get it exposure or do you think it has a chance of working.

How to Day Trade Introduction - YouTube

My target market at this point is anyone 21 yrs and above in English speaking countries.

Also, do you have any suggestions of where and how to advertise it?

Thank You

I watched your video and here are some of my observations:
    - first the audio quality ... I got an impression that the video is old (not current) because of the audio quality... but the more I listened, the more I got a feeling that this could actually help you differentiate from others.
    - In my opinion the video is little slow paced. There are some short pauses between some of the slides that could actually make people stop watching. Our attention span today is really short.
Now if I were you, I wouldn't put all my marketing money getting the traffic to this video.
You really should test a few different things and then chose the best performing ad to get traffic to.
    I hope that helps.

I watched your video. Sounds good, but you will need to improve your microphone quality to be taken more seriously, furthermore, you will need to make multitude of videos such as that one to increase your page views.

I would also highly suggest changing your domain name. People tend not to take .biz websites too seriously.

      Hi Berg.

I can appreciate the hard work you put into your video and I commend you on your extensive planning and editing.

At this point I would not pay to get traffic to your video, as I feel it will get a very, very low conversion rate for the following reasons:

1-) Audio. Although YOU sound like you CAN deliver a good voice-over, the tempo of this audio track sounded very scripted, like from a teleprompter. As a result it lacked some heart and soul.

2-) Many of the images and video quality left much to be desired. The visuals made the video seem dated. Your frame size is also nearly square, further adding to the "feeling" that your video is outdated.

3-) Too much boring. Although of interest to me, market trading tactics are a dime a dozen and your (somewhat monotone) delivery did not inspire me to listen closely, or get excited.

4-) No story to tell. For a video this long and this much to say, you need to rewrite the entire content wrapped in a story that has some drama. You also need to start with a hard hitting beginning to that story right from the get go of your video.

5-) Lack of professional branding. Your video looks like a mish-mash of images snapped up online that are trying to finish each sentence visually as it arises. None of the images were complimentary to, or adding to a brand, flavor of tempo of the video.

Furthermore, I would strongly consider shortening the video and cutting some of the content into smaller bites. Good for split testing as well.

I had a chance to check out your video. I also thought the video seemed old for 2 reasons. The audio and dimensions... It's not widescreen.

Too much lag in the voice over. Needs to be shorter, more to the point. Keeping it moving.

The text effects seem very basic. If you don't have the access to high quality production, transition each paragraph all at once. This will clean it up a bit. There's nothing wrong with basic text videos when done right. Hope this helps!

Hi and thanks to everyone who responded with suggestions. There seems to be a consensus on a number of points.

    1. The quality of the audio and size of the visual....giving the appearance that the video is outdated.
    2. The presentation is too slow paced, boring and too long
    3. Due to the combination of these issues the video does not warrant the capital expense to promote it.

Although I could correct some of these issues I am not able to correct all. Unfortunately I am already at the upper limit of my ability and capabilities as far as the audio and visual qualities goes. To improve in these areas I would have to hire someone or some agency to fix these issues.

I could however shorten the video by about half if you think that would help, but my concern comes form the fact that the video looks outdated. Are you saying that people will not watch it in its entirety because they will feel that they have stumbled on to something that probably no longer exists or is no longer relevant?

If that is the case then shortening or the other little improvements I could make won't help any.

Please let me know if this is what you mean.

    Thanks

Certainly there is a risk in that, but it's more of a perception issue than a viewer asking themselves specific questions about what they are watching.

This is a Youtube generation (no matter what your target audience is) and viewers are extremely ruthless (quick to judge) now in terms of shutting down anything they perceive that will be killing their time - even in many cases unfairly - as with perhaps your video which probably does have some interesting content.

Further - The Dilbert character may be a copyright issue, so even though it seems fair use within the video, your website features him as well - almost as if Dilbert is part of your brand. This is problematic.

In addition, your logo also lends itself to a mock-up from 1997. I feel you should consider a complete branding makeover with website and video. And I say this because I can sense that you do have some valuable content, not because I think you should throw in the towel.

Here are some videos that I think can help you with some of these suggestions:

I looked at the video and i think that it was of reasonable quality and some what entertaining and engaging. the sound quality was not perfect but acceptable and do not spend the next 2 weeks trying to perfect it.You can also look at what your competition is doing to give you and idea what to do

I'm actually very interested in day trading. The message was good but I would definitely aim for a more higher quality video.

It's not imperative that you do that but from my experience with video I have learned that quality converts a lot better. Combined with a good message that is.

I'm brand new to this IM stuff. I saw the video and thought it was not too bad really. But as I say, I'm brand new to this so I could be way off the mark.

It is not a thing I am interested in this day trading thing. Sooner bet on racehorses if I want to gamble. Lots of hissing in the background and there was no excitement in the voice, just a boring monotone.
I don't do well with video, my attention span is about 2 to 3 minutes max and I quit at less than 1 minute. A bit quick but as I said it is not something I am interested in to start with so it was always an uphill battle to keep me.

Here's my take on your video: It moves much to slow. With today's attention spans, you much speed it up and shorten it. It appears you are trying to get a first-level commitment, but you will lose most viewers with the slow pace. I suggest getting to the point.

The audio quality, while not terrible, doesn't come across as crisp and clear. I would replace it if it were my video.

Overall, your video follows a common road, but may yield better results if it is less conventional.

All I can say is I would believe this a bit more if I can see you doing the video yourself. But I'm a huge skeptic for this kind of stuff and never, ever sign up for this kind of thing - not a good indication of your target audience.

Not to bad, I think the Audio could be a bit better and I find that if you talk natural more relaxed as if you were talking normally to someone, It comes out better.

But overall not to bad. Good Luck

Hey Berg! Good job but here are my suggestions:

    1) It is way toooooo LONG! My suggestion is to cut it down to 5 minutes tops but lean more towards 3 minutes
    2) The opener with dilbert needs to be stronger before you make an introudction

Here is a 5-part formula that you should apply when writing the script and creating the slides for the video:

    1) Problem
    2) Solution
    3) How it Works
    4) Wrap It Up
    5) CTA (call to action) with your logo and tagline

THen apply these SUCCESS rules to it:

    Simple
Unexpected ---> there is some sort of surprise (bonus or with the animation of the video itself)
Concrete ----> speaks directly to the viewer and it is not generic
Credibility ---> can be either 1) Your crdentials/ social proof from a testimonial OR 2) It could realistically happen in the world
Emotional ----> be sure to tap in an emotion pleasure/pain; overwhelm; etc.
Story -----> There has to be some sort of story
Smile ----> Gets the person to smile

    Hope this helps!

No it doesn't suck. Its not the way I'd make a video but it doesn't suck.

I prefer to turn on my webcam and have a focused and unique script.
One "trick" I use, is to get to the "meat" IMMEDIATELY.

But I do really personal videos, not business like videos like this. Anyway, it doesn't matter. I believe either can convert well.

What I would try to do though, is shorten it, and stick more to the "meat" if that makes sense. Hit on major points immediately. You should have an intro, but the intro in this one is where my main problem lies.

I do NOT like how the intro was done. "If you can spot the difference between this and this..." I almost felt insulted when I watched that part. If I was just browsing youtube vids, I would have clicked out during the intro.

Although there is useful information, the PERCEPTION thats created in the intro is too simplified. Study how someone like Joe Polish does videos. He gets to the meat fast. Or he introduces the meat fast.

He also does more personal videos (most of the time). Lots of people say animations are good, but I'd much rather hear and see a real person, rather than fancy graphs/diagrams.

The interesting thing about these types of videos, is they take less time to do, but they SEEM like more work. Just because the speaker has courage to sit in front of a camera. I don't know. Maybe its just me, but 90% of the videos I click on in youtube, have people in them. So thats how I make my own videos.

Overall its not bad, I just can't watch animations of any kind. So I'm too bias to give you objective advice. I know tons of people use them, but I hate them. In effort to counter the negativity, your voice is great. You DO sound like a smart & credible person, so I think you'll do great.
