Screen Capture and Windows Movie Maker

Hello all

I want to start making review and tutorial videos

I have Windows 7 with the newest version of WMM

So a few questions

Can I do screen capture videos with this or is there a add on I could download to do this.

I have looked through their tutorials and I see how I can make some nice Power Point videos but I would like to be able to add some screen capture to the video.

I am considering Camtasia but would like to try some videos witht the software I already have before I make the investment.

Thank You

Check out camstudio, if you use their lossless codec it's very high quality. You can then import these videos into movie maker.

Download a free copy of 30 day free trial Camstasia software by googling it online. I would give you a functional serial code!

Know how much that costs?.....its all yours for the taking mate!

You may not be able to zoom in and blur content with the free software such as cam studio .Camtasia is the software most marketers use

I personally use Screen-Cast-O'matic and I am very happy with it. VERY easy to use, and they have lots of features. You can use the program for free and if you want to go pro, I think it's around 15 bucks for a year.

I obviously didnt want to start an argument about Camtasia being far better than Camstudio. But the reality is anything free definitely has restrictions compared to paid.

Are you really a serious Marketer? Use Camtasia!

If you want to go with free Microsoft software like the OP implies then you can use Microsoft Expression Encoder. It's not great but it works.

It's not great because sometimes when I've used it in the past it fails to render correctly and then you have to try to encode it again after you've waited 10 minutes on the first try. Can be a huge time waster.

But it might work better for you on your computer.

Likewise, cam studio's an option but I actually had more glitches with that and just didn't like it's usability on my computer.

I'd prefer Microsoft Expression Encoder over that if you're going for free.

I use camtasia. The whole thing makes it easy for me to edit the sound and the slide and the timing for my videos. "Easy" saves me time so I go with that..

    Best way :-

    1. Download Jing - free , also need .net framework , get that thru cnet
    2. Add pics from jing on WMM
    3. Add your Videos
    4. Make a movie
    Fastest, best

I do not think that you do not need something else for that.

I think he means you probably won't need anything more than the free one.

I offer video creation services. I can do your video in your behalf..
I suggest to use Sony Vegas.. I have nothing against with WMM though.. but it has limited functions..

My Screen Recorder is one of the best screen recording tools. It's easy to use, and the recordings work with WMM and PowerPoint - Screen Recording Software:
