Since I subscribed to his mailing list, it has been an everyday affair. No break.

I just got tired and clicked 'unsubscribe'.

I wonder what he gains from this and I do believe that other people may have been experiencing this too.

Everyday, I receive emails and sometimes twice a day... I got fed up and 'unsubscribed'

This should serve as a warning to all informarketers out there. Respect yourself and your subscribers will respect you. It is no rocket science. Nobody likes to be bombarded with offers, even you.

    I agree 100%, ideally about an offer every 10 days would be appropriate.

    Well, there is more than one business model for e-mail marketing.

    Some will follow a nurturing path building trust and confidence and building a relationship, as much as they can, over time. They hope that the open rate and click rate will be higher as a result. Probably correct.

    Others have a more aggressive approach. They have to always be replenishing the list to outweigh the unsubscriptions. They figure that the vast majority of a nurtured list are unopens anyway and the fact that they kind of 'force' unsubscriptions is a way of pruning people who are never going to buy from them and therefore are dead weight on the list. Also, they figure if they are not mailing their subscribers about an offer, then someone else will.

    If you want to look at how larger players use this aggressive approach, I get loads of e-mails from Amazon every week, on occasion more than one in a day, just telling me they have things I might be interested in for sale on their site. Like I didn't know this, lol.

    The truth is, people make money both ways. We can pontificate about which is 'right' or 'wrong' but there is little point in doing so.

    That's why the unsubscribe button is there. Thankfully.

    I've read a sound schedule on WF that I'll be applying from now on:
    Send emails from the time the user joins:
    Day 0 for the subscription confirmation and probably giving the free gift
    Day 1
    Day 3
    Day 6
    Day 10
    Day 15
    From then, every 5 or 6 days, to avoid the same day of the week email, if you can sustain it for as long as you can.
    Then a minimum of once a month.

    I think it makes sense, it is not too much I think, assuming the emails bring in value and are balanced between some useful info and products promotion.

    Just did the same thing but it wasn't everyday - it was every other day. That's also too much.

    Funny how these marketers obviously know about lists and email marketing but never read about etiquette?

    My subscribers enjoy receiving three emails a day from me, except when they don't get three a day.

    If they ever decide they don't like it, they SHOULD unsubscribe.

    But strangely, most of them don't unsub.

    Maybe they really do enjoy receiving my emails. Which just goes to show that you don't know what you are talking about.

    Yeah, maybe you don't like it... But sir, you don't speak for the planet. :rolleyes:

    Info marketers should use email marketing to provide content and build trust through value delivery. Then use trust to market own products or affiliate products.
