No domain names are premium to me unless it has a good SERPs ranking.

Ok so I ran appraisal on estibot.com. Estibot says it's worth $600 bucks. But I ran another appraisal on urlappraisal.net and it says it's only worth $52. It's got good keyword relevancy.

However, you might want to check into that new update that google did a while ago that penalizes domains for exact domain names.

        Hope that helps.

I think you need to spend some time researching the changes with EDM (exact domain match). They don't bare the weight they used to - and this could have a long term effect on some domainers.

Yes, and the site/name carrys MORE weight/profit if it has more than just the name at stake. That is what the OP was saying.

As a name alone, it is really only worth 10 bucks IMO.

There is a LOT of work that will need to be done to brand and rank - and this should be considered in your factors of buying a domain.

Dot COM is still the most recognized. If you are looking for "type in" traffic, your dot CO is going to give you some fluxuating results.

If you are looking to rank the domain yourself, you need to see what I mentioned before. EDM's are not what they used to be.

You are better off creating an authority site under almost ANY brand name you choose. You might even get better results by staying away from the EDM.

            yeh..

i am well aware about googles latest exact match domain.

obviously on every new domain lot of work to be done...

but think about the competition and the domain name

i think its a dictionary word got some info on WIKIPEDIA...rather a full page dedicated to this word....

is there will be chance in future to grab such a good domain.....

maximum of top level domains are already developed....

            what do you think ??????????

I don't know if any .co domain can be considered premium. On the other hand, it is a one word domain, so it might be worth something someday. At $3,000 it's not a good gamble IMO though.

      Agreed 100%

Also -I still add the "m" to the .co tlds when directly accessing them. Old habits.

IMO estibot and other free appraisals are very unreliable. Try 2-3 paid appraisals for an idea.

Ok if you don't want to get ripped off here is what I would do (this is what I do). I go to 3 url appraisal sites. EstiBot.com - Free Domain Appraisal and Domain Productivity Tools, www.urlappraisal.com, and I go to the go daddy auction.

Run an appraisal on the first two, the urlappraisal.com one can be kind of retarded because it says Google is worth something like 38k, thats why I use go daddy auction.

After you run an appraisal on the first 2 (estibot is usually more realistic). You have to think of it as buying a product in a store. The shopper (you) is going to want to find the lowest possible price, so that is what your doing. So in essence your kind of "shopping around".

After you run the appraisals on the first two sites you go to google. Act as if you already own the domain and go to "list your domains" under the domains -> auctions tab. Then when you fill in both spots with the domain you want to "put in auction" select one of the drop down menus for what type of auction you want it to be. Then there will be a little box below that says "add google appraisal" and click that and a little box will show up with the range of how much google thinks it's worth. It's usually low but I wouldn't pay more than the highest amount it lists. That way you can hopefully sell it for at least what that amount is by adding the appraisal feature to that domain in an auction (hopefully, and thats if you wanted to make your money back).

I don't know what a premium domain is, but surely not a .co
in that case anything could be..
I would rather look at .com only.
if you like paydays for some reason then you could take ppaydays.com and find something meaningful, rememberable for the first p, same with your logo use the double PP as a visually interesting thing.
That is if you plan on doing anything serious with it, if it's just for buying/selling domains, then I don't know anything about it.

You should ask yourself, how many .co's do you see ranking on the first page of Google?

A domain is only worth as much as what someone is willing to purchase it for.

I agree that you should ask this question on a domain-focused forum, not here. People aren't really into domaining on WF as they are on other forums.

From SEO perspective .co = .com even according to Google. Both are superior to .net/.org.

Just that .co are new and few people know about it. But resale of .co will be much lower.

Why does anyone bother looking at domain appraisal sites ? They are pointless .

Just for a laugh I done a check for the warrior forum value at estibot.com

      Estimated Value 124k

I am sure you couldn't buy this domain for even close to 1.24 million !

Appraisals - both automated and human - are mostly junk. Having sold well over 16,000 domain names, we do NOT do appraisals even for money.

The reason is - the value of a domain name is based on how much people are willing to pay for a domain.

More reliable than an appraisal is actually checking historical sales of comparable domain names. There are two sites you can do this at: EstiBot.com and dnsalesprice dot com. Keep in mind these are just public sales + sales that have been reported. In a case like this, check sales of .co domains along with WHEN they took place. TLDs/CCTLDs come and go out of fashion for various reasons. For example, we've owned who.mobi for several years. We turned down offers of mid 5 figures but now .mobi has nose-dived so it's not worth a fraction of what it had been.

You'd have better luck with finding 6 x $500 domains in .com, .net or .org than waiting for a higher buyer on a .co IMO.

    Good luck!

    That seems like whopping competition.

If the guy wants $3000, how much more do you think you could charge to flip it and make a profit? It seems like quite a challenge, especially when you consider the competition for that keyword alone. The buyer would have to be a proficient marketer to beat it.

I guess the first thing you need to do before diving into such a deal is to investigate if people would be interested in such a domain with such competition. Would they be willing to pay that much for it? If they, too, are looking to buy and flip, I'd guess they'd want to pay much less for it to get the highest profit.
