Can I remove Animoto logo from their Video?

Is it legal to remove the animoto logo from the videos made in animoto.com? I'm interested only if it's legal. Otherwise I don't need it.

Can anyone help please?

No sir that's illegal. If you get the upgrade, it will remove all watermarks. It's about $2.50(PLUS)monthly and $20.75(PRO)monthly a month That's why it's there...it's a great marketing strategy what not.

Is this for an older video...? I thought you can't download 30 sec videos anymore.

    Hope this helps.

Best to pay for the pro account. You could remove the logo, but its not a very clean edit and is against their TOS. Would they find out? Probably not, if you were just doing one video, but if you are producing videos for clients, you should play it safe and at least pay for a month of the pro account. Technically, you need to have a reseller account to be able to sell your videos to clients, which is $499 a year. If you are making money and are doing enough videos, the reseller account is worth it.

PS - IMHO, the PLUS account is worthless, as it still has the branding. So you at least need to go PRO, which is $39 a month.

You need to upgrade I think to one of their pro levels or something. I am sure its on the site were they list the features of each level

    • Import the video into windows movie maker and then end the movie right before the animoto slide.

Incidentally, once you learn a little about windows movie maker, you may decide to just use it to make your slideshow videos as it's super simple to use and a bit easier to rank on youtube, IMHO.

Yep, that can be done. But that would be against their TOS, so that's a no-go for the OP.

That's an interesting comment. I don't think Windows Movie Maker videos are any better for ranking - after all, Youtube always re-encodes your videos when you upload them. So what would make you say that? Just curious.

That is certainly the OP's choice. I'm not here to give legal advice. I only expressed how it can technically be done.

This has been the case, in my experience. I also think that 30 second animoto videos are a red flag for videos that are being targeted by youtube for commercial intent.

          These are my observations.

Good point about the 30 sec thing - makes logical sense for YouTube to be looking out for those. Unless it's a viral video (which are usually NOT that short), chances are good that longer videos would be preferred.

What happens if I remove their logo from end through other software ?

They just block our account.....anything else ?

What steps should we follow so that they don't come to know about this.
