Freelancer, Odesk Or Elance?

I have found several reliable freelancers on oDesk. I would recommend you look for someone with positive feedback for jobs that are similar to the one you are looking to post.

Remember, cheap is not always better. By paying a little extra you will get some more peace of mind.

The only snag with "Warriors for Hire" is that there is no form of backup/guarantee (no matter how minor) as provided by these other sites. You are "on your own". That is my understanding.

I had an absolute nightmare with oDesk this week, and cannot recommend them to anyone who takes freelancing seriously.

I think its not about the website. I think its all about your ability to select individuals who are fitted to do what you require. Careful analyzing and checking their portfolio, feedback score, and completed assignment will help you regardless of what website they are affiliated. Among the listed sites, I think I lean on elance.

While the point you made is quite important, it takes care only of the pre-project implementation phase. The site/system can materially have an impact on the project implementation and post-project implementation phases.

for coding and programming jobs i prefer vworker.com. it was previously know as rent a coder.com.
The best ever. Its little bit expensive but you can get quality workers.

I did quite well as a provider when I first started out using vWorker, back when it was still named RentACoder. I have not visited it in years, I must check it our again. Thanks for the reminder.

From my experience, elance members usually have higher rates but they are also more professional than those who bid $1 per hour on odesk. On freelancer, it's very hard to sort out all the people that bid "just in case" without having any skills to actually complete the job.

I prefer odesk. freelancer is ok but the search function is not as sophisticated.
I had dispute issues with elance and they offer no protection against poor quality contractors, you have to pay like $300 to get something resolved, just google "elance dispute scam". the best workers have accounts on all three so it makes no difference who you choose but i'd never use elance again.

I am now talking as a freelancer, and I have to say that odesk and elance, are way better than freelancer. On freelancer, not only that they approve many unprepared workers, but many of the offered jobs are scams and fake jobs. Elance may be a little more expensive , but is more secure.

With my experience, freelancer is the best for programming - you can get some good deals too. But, it's really about the people/person - so make sure to have a good screening process, etc.

I would like to go both freelancer and oDesk. Because the contractors of those sites are much more reliable then elance or other sites. You can find very good worker in reasonable rate in those sites.

There are a lot of good Filipino programmers at onlinejobs.ph and bestjobs.ph. They're not as cheap as those mentioned above but you can be sure of their experience and skill
