Starting an email autoresponder series. Need tips.

Hi,

The subject of my autoresponder series has 2 subjects from my website: computers/electronics(main product) and making money online(side affiliate offers). I am combining the offers in my emails because it is kind of a good combination and I have very little content to offer on either subject besides my products and offers. I have a squeeze page planned to setup on Weebly.com.

So I would like to ask what are some simple straightforward tips or other content sources for my subjects? Do I need to state my sources in my emails?

Also, I plan to make a 40 to 50 email series. So do I need content for every e-mail? Since I hear content is extremely important.

Thanks for the advice.

Firstly, think about those real people who signed up to your list and what you promised they would receive after they subscribed. If you promised them tips, deliver tips; if you promised analysis, deliver analysis; if you promised news, deliver news.

With regard to how to obtain that content, you can write it yourself, pay someone else to write it for you, partner with someone who can write, etc. Don't be tempted to rip off other people's work and don't be tempted to deliver poor quality information interspersed with offers.

Stand out from the crowd, become an expert in your field, demonstrate to your target market that you know what you are talking about and you will be rewarded.

Do not combine the lists unless you have a way to tie them together than makes sense. From your opening post, it doesn't sound like you do. Better by far to have two smaller lists focused on their respective subjects.

My guess is that you trawled through the ClickBank marketplace and got dazzled by the idea of high-dollar info products with 50-75% commission. Here's a tip - there's a reason they have to offer those kinds of commissions, while physical product vendors like Amazon or WalMart have people lined up to promote their stuff for 5-15%.

This is the single biggest tip I could have given you.

Everything leading up to the actual opt-in sets an expectation. Your emails must match that expectation if you want to have a chance.

A quick suggestion is when thinking of the subjects/topics for your emails, put yourself in the shoes of your target audience - what will they be expecting/wanting/would like to receive emails about from you and write accordingly.

    Best,

    Andy.

You need to have 2 specific lists, if I joined for advice on computers & electronics and then you started sending me clickbank affiliate links I would be hitting unsubscribe instantly.

Also hosting a squeezepage on weebly is a terrible idea, invest in your own domain and host it yourself. Nothing says cheap and untrustworthy more than free hosting which will also have adverts on the page taking away from your opt-in process.

Lastly if you put 40 plus message in your autoresponder what happens when one of the sites you promote is no longer online in 6 months? When you send out an automated message and the links don't work it doesn't make you look good in the eyes of the subscriber.

I agree with everything Andrew, except the last part. Of course you want to be adding evergreen content to your autoresponder and check that links are working from time to time - but you are suggesting that broadcasting messages is better than follow ups, which is just not the case at all. Both are important and both have their purpose.

    This is incorrect.

It's a very bad combination, which will detract from both, possibly even so much that your open-rate and click-through-rate may even end up being close to zero. It's difficult to describe the magnitude of the mistake you'd be making, there.

The more you segregate your lists, right from the start, the better. It's all advantage and no downside, to do that.

As long as you pay for the upgrade, so that your site doesn't have the "Make your own free site with Weebly" button on it.

You can see how "plausible" and "credible" that would look, when you're offering people advice on making money online! It says, openly and expressly, "I'm not making enough myself to be able to pay $5 per month for hosting my own site"!!

What do you mean by "sources"?

Clearly, you need to not use any text/material to which you don't either own the copyright, or have the written permission of the copyright-owner to use it. Otherwise you may end up needing a lawyer.

There are a number of threads here which may help you.

    May I suggest this one, as a starting-point? http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post6123982

Yes or the email will be empty!

My advise is to restrict the number of emails queued up. Maximum would be 7, because they are all outdated/static and are automated over a period of time.

With things changing very quick in IM, you never know you might be scheduling an outdated email in your queue which can cause confusion among your subscribers.

Example in case of SEO techniques, if you schedule a dozen of techniques, you are at the rick of advising some of the outdated techniques. So you need to be very careful in queing up follow up emails and the content in it..
