    Hi SBT,

Yeah you have to be a lot more patient with F/B my friend!

That's if you are looking to build your brand without using the PAID advertising options of course.

Look to hang around at similar fan pages as your own and post comments, add your own opinions, try to funnel people back to your fan page as much as you can.

Be consistent and have a strategy in place for doing this.

Don't buy a ton of likes packages as this can get you banned.

Leave links to your blog updates.

Allow your blog visitors to post comments back to F/B

Spend little time on it everyday but be consistent with it and of course patience is key.

Hope this helps and have great day!!!

I don't like the idea of spending advertising dollars just to get facebook likes. It's probably a decent idea if you were a big brand. But you're better off spending that money to help your business gain more revenue. The whole 'build up a facebook business page' is over hyped. It's good to have a presence on facebook, but don't make it your main focus. Just put a like button on your website and if your product is good enough the likes will come on their own.

So forget about spending money to build likes. Use that money to help your business grow.

Yeah me neither hence the reason why I never did so and more of a reason why people fall for the Facebook hype. The same hype behind the MMO niche is prevelant.

Disagree personally but agree if your relating to those that don't know how to use it.

Facebook can get pretty expensive if you don't know what you are doing, you might want to try alternative sources of traffic. You should have figured out the monetizing part way before even spending money on PPC, actually even before you have started the project.

Best way is just to bribe people.

Face Book people are creatures of low attention, looking to escape the boredom of their lives.

Provide a fun escape *if possible*.

Run a few contest with low cost items that have a high perceived value in your niche.

    decals, hats, shirts, etc.

Did a test run on a new side niche that I am in, got over 3,000 fans in less than 4 days.

Cost under $100 in bribe loot, and the fans provided the fuel to post.

I read an article the other day which compared the value of marketing on FB compared to other media and FB ranked last. I was heartbroken bc I have two FB marketing soft wares that I planned to use and generate revenue from. FB has changed dramatically in recent years and I foresee it becoming more difficult for small businessowners to use it as a marketing tool.

    Here's the secret formula...

Facebook is a SOCIAL media platform... BE SOCIABLE.

Attract... engage... interact... it's a process and you can't
shortcut the process with PPC advertising unless you're the
    best of the best.

You will need an abundance of patience to make lots of money
with Facebook. Most people... way above 80%... will never make
a dime with Facebook because they have neither the patience nor
    the social skills.
