Where do I go from here?... so many paths

So for the past few months I've put countless hours into writing an Ebook, I can say it is about 90% finished.... But after I finish this Ebook I have to switch my efforts to something else, and this is where I got confused.

I know I need to make a website to sell this book... right? So first step then to make a site, learn to make a sales page, learn copywriting, learn about SEO & Traffic, or learn porgramming a website??

So many things to learn, can someone guide me into the right way? perhaps recommend a few books that are really informative and new? Thanks guys

This is coming from a Clickbank Top Vendor & Affiliate. Here is my basic flow...

    1. Make Product
    2. Write Sales Letter
    3. Sales Letter Design
    4. Members Area Design & Programming (This includes the thank you page)
    5. Affiliates Area Copy
    - Banners and other marketing materials go into this phase as well.
    6. Submit for approval
    7. Start promoting
    8. Make sales
    9. Show affiliates & Recruit

But if I were you I wouldn't even waste my time doing all this from scratch. Head on over to flippa. Type in Clickbank. But one of these $200 per-made sites with everything I just mention and tweak the design and copy towards your product.

See what kind of result that gets you.

Once you have more experience you can start making products from scratch.

First, stop writing your book. Before getting started on a product, it's best to know who and where your market is and how you intend to reach those prospects.

Work out your marketing plan. If you're intending to put up a site, is it to catch leads (eg a squeeze page) or are you intending to establish authority in your topic?

Are there other players in your market who can help you reach your prospects, either by a joint venture or as an affiliate?

Are you planning to spend money on an advertising/promotional campaign - if so, where and how?

These are the sort of questions you should be asking yourself before going any further. You don't want to spend months on a project only to discover that there's no market for it or that you don't have any effective means of reaching enough prospects.

I kind of have a clue about where the market is, I'm writing this Ebook on fitness. I still don't know if I want to sell it, or give it away to catch leads (Squeeze page).... so confused about those 2 choices.

How would those leads benefit me more than selling it right away?

I've already advertised it slightly on my youtube page, which has some followers already.

Fitness isn't really a niche. It's a huge topic with countless sub-niches. A generic fitness product would be hard, if not impossible, to market cost-effectively. Does your eBook focus on a specific group?

The decision about whether to use your book to collect leads or as a revenue generator in itself would depend on several issues. A couple being whether your book is good enough and targeted well enough to be of value and whether there are other relevant products available and ready for you to use in your sales funnel.

My book is about how I transformed from a skinny nerd gamer into a buff nightclub doorman, and I want to show all gamers out there they can do the same. So I guess my niche is gamers who want to get in shape...

Well, it's a start. There are lots of successful products about building muscle - turning nerds into bouncers, as you put it. I'd check out some of those and get a feel for how they're being marketed. For example, are they sold via authority sites, Clickbank, online magazines or forums? Try to identify some of the big players in the market and get on their lists, where possible. You might find someone well placed for a joint venture or other mutual arrangement. At the very least you'll get an insight into your target market.

Thanks for all the help! Got a personal question, how did you learn all this? Just through years of experience in online business?

If that question's addressed to me, yes. Years in business both online and (mainly) in the real world. Most principles of marketing haven't changed much over the ages.

                Good luck with your project!

You are in the right way. All you need to do is to cross step by step gradually. Why not cut your all plan into small pieces and try to achieve those in each day. Best of luck dude.
