Adding graphocs to videos

I want to take my video marketing to the next level with increased production values.
I use MS Expression Encoder to make my videos, how do I add graphics to my videos.
For instance a countdown or scrolling text etc.
Anyadvice on programs that can do this or how to do this would be appreciated.
