Email content. When are you providing too much?

Hey erbody!

I'm in the process of writing an email to include in my follow up
sequence and it's pretty much just filled with content.

It almost looks like an article filled with helpful tips that
compliments the product I'm promoting.

It's all good content, however, I'm wondering if I went a little
over board because it's a rather long email and I'm not sure
if it's a good idea to include SO much information in one email.

What would you guys suggest? I know the primary purpose of
an email is just to get the person to click your link and direct them
to another page, but I figured I could just give them the content right
in the email as to over-deliver a bit and allow them the option of
learning more with the product I'm promoting..

So what do you guys think?

    Is the first email of your email campaign?

    I would say that it might depend of how the readers feel and how they react to your content.

    I always give them good content before selling anything and it works for me. But every body is different, and I don't write like you and probably my way to engage the readers it different than yours.

    Also, I personally believe that you should give them content before selling them anything.

    If I'm looking forward to your emails because I know you give great content then I'd have no problem reading a long email. If not, I won't even consider reading it if it's too long. I have stuff to do. That's really all you need to know. Put yourself in the shoes of your subscriber. How many long emails do you read? Unless you have built some sort of relationship, I'll guess they'll pass over it like I would, and you would too.

    You want your subs to get used to clicking on your links anyway, so maybe the best approach is to send them to a blog post, or at least take the best points out of the message and make it shorter.

    That's just my opinion though. There's no right or wrong answer until you test it for yourself. But, If it's the first email, I'd be wary of too much text in the beginning. People are on many lists and have little time for reading all their emails unless it's specific to what they're looking for.

    Hi Dyer,

    I like to start off with an email that directs someone to another FREE gift or video that will further grow my relationship with that new subscriber.

    This alows me to place a picture of myself and my name on the download page to build branding of myself as a marketer.

    Once people know your name and face and recognise you as someone who gives great value and is an authority within that niche, they will respond to you from then on when you send further emails to them within your email sequence.

    Aim to build your brand and relationship with your new subscribers as soon as they become a subscriber of yours.

      Most important thing check your numbers.

      Your open rate/ctr/sales will tell you if your e-mails are too long.

      Best way of finding out is to 'just do it'!
