About to let some nice 4 letter .us domains expire, mistake or let'em go?

Hi folks,

I'm seriously considering letting these .us domains expire:

guestroom.us
hostwebsite.us
iggy.us
locater.us

I've got too much going on right now and don't have the $40 spare right now...these are up for renewal...

What you guys think, should I keep any, develop, or ditch 'em?

    .
Ever notice that people who spend money on WSO, memberships and courses, are always complaining about being broke and not making any money ?

They should have bought ASSETS instead.

I second what rendell said. You might be able to recover some of your investment by using NP or DNF.

I'd ditch them. I personally don't buy or like .us domains. If you don't have plans for them, I don't see the value in keeping them.

They were 99cents at 1&1 - the only thing they are good for!
I could make a quick site for HG affiliate and use HostWebsite.us, might be worth doing that I kept Iggy, couldn't bring myself to let that one go

.US domain registrar has a spreadsheet you can download and see the expiring domains coming available. I know they're not too desirable but when they're only a buck it's hard to resist a good one?

Umm - hmm - SEO is my business and having bought profitable websites as well as domains, here are things I've found true over the years:

    - Despite 'urban legends' .us domains are no barrier to receiving high search rankings. I seen (and even rocked some) into TOP rankings in very competitive search markets

    - If one has no plans to develop the domain and initial valuation aren't significant, to keep paying costs to maintain these (or any) domain adds very little value. 'Hoping' the are someday worth something isn't sound strategy to 'flip' them

    - Don't 'throw good money after bad'. Most often and anyone whose made money online can confirm, there are many more money-losing campaigns that 'money makers'.

As .us domains go - I bought wordpressseo.us, rocked it to the top in a very competitive market and believed because I'd displaced the 'world famous' Yoast website from the top two spots, cash would come rollin in.

I offered SEO tutorials and Yoast, that plugin. I spent enormous effort remaining there but at some point, I knew it wouldn't pay and had to abandon it and 'move on'. Those who search 'wordpress seo' are typically inexperienced, lazy or both. Yoast offered a much less effective solution (than manual) which appealed to both 'inexperience and laziness' and remains there today, making a KILLING!

Assess whether you are there Warrior and make the decision.
