I'm using icontact. I figured there must be a way to upload the document/file within the autoresponder dashboard and send it directly to the list however it looks they don't have one.

Just have it setup so you send a follow up email

You can either attach it to the email or you can send them to a download link

    The choice is yours!

You can set up a download page on your site and direct to it after someone had signed to your opt-in list.

Get a free Dropbox account. Upload the ebook to your public folder. Put the link to the file in your email to the subscriber for after they confirm. Change the name of the Ebook file on Dropbox every few days to prevent hotlinking and sharing. Change the email link when you do.

You can upload your pdf file to your server and then include the full link or you can upload it to a document sharing site and include the link for direct download.

I was aware about that but don't know where exactly to look for the url link that i can give it to my list.

so do i create a another folder/sub folder and put the pdf file in there and then use the url to that folder and send it to my list? Sounds pretty straightfoward and easy but i got stuck in the process not knowing how to get the url link.

Much simpler and cost effective to use Dropbox.
