How do you do product research without buying the product? (CB Products)

Hi all,

I am looking to market high quality products to my list. I am having a hard time finding out if a product is high quality or not. I don't have a huge starting budget so I can't purchase and research all of these products. Is there another way to see if a CB product is high quality other than to go by gravity and the sales page?

I tried signing up for CB engine but most products are reoccurring in my niche and CB engine states that refund rates are skewed for those types of products. (most have n/a for their refund rates anyway.)

I also tried looking for a CB product review site and cannot find any reliable places with a bunch of reviews.

How do you do your product research? I don't want to ruin their trust by promoting junk.

You can ask for a review copy. Whether or not you get one typically depends on how you ask. There are many suggestions here: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post3641838

If that doesn't help, you can always buy one through your own affiliate-link (that's allowed), but I'd advise you not to ask for a refund, if you do that and don't like it.

The gravity can't possibly tell you whether the product's high quality or not, because (contrary to widespread belief) there's no correlation between gravity figures and how well the product's selling, and no correlation between the gravity figure and the conversion-rate, either.

You get a free one, or you buy one, I'm afraid. I wouldn't dream of promoting a ClickBank product I hadn't seen myself. Trust is gradually and slowly built up, but can be destroyed in an instant.

I appreciate your question, but I have to tell you something important.

Personally, I expect to have those who are recommending products to me to have actually read them/tried them so they can give me an honest appraisal and feedback about the utility and quality of the item.

I don't want to buy from affiliates who slap on a recommendation without at least knowing what he/she is trying to sell me.

Sure, the laziness of affiliates happens ALL THE TIME but for me at least, I want to know that YOU KNOW what you're talking about. Sometimes I can't tell if an affiliate has actually used the product - but most of the time it's very obvious.

If you can't afford to buy a product, contact the seller, be sincere, promise a full unbiased review and tell him you'd like a review copy. Some will turn you down, others won't but at least the seller will know that you are not one of the lazy IMers that make few sales.

    Good luck to you.

Alex and Steve pretty much nailed it.

Also check out the Warrior forum "Wanted - Members Looking to Hire You" Section and see if there are any review copies being offered for something in your niche. You can also use the advanced search function and do a keyword search from that forum.

I've found a couple nifty products in there and I rarely go into that subforum.
