Will Directory Submitter helps to increase traffic to my website?

Hi,

I've been reading about article directory submission and I found out it to be not very useful especially when I see how Alexa is trying so hard to make sure warriors don't fall into this trap.

How about directory submitter software like Brad Callen's Directory Submitter and other similar products which will submit my website to tons of directories and create a lot of 1-way links to my website and ultimately will rank me higher in Google?

Will it be a good investment or it is going to do more harm than good like an article spinner and submitter?

Your wisdom is much appreciated.

I prefer to think that automated systems to build links are not going to go the distance.

True traffic and real leads come from hard coded links and humans that endorse you. THis comes from only one source...you guessed it - hard work!

Create good content and distribute it via as many channels as you can and folks will link to you.

Feel free to reach out if I can provide additional advice or help!

    Good luck!

Automated backlinks are always a crap. You can do article directory submission but you should choose directories which are very popular with high PR. You should avoid using auto approve article directories and low PR article directories. Thus you will get a lot of benefit of article directory submission.

On the other hand, directory submission is not a very effective way to get traffic. Yes, it can be effective to get some backlinks but submitting a website through a software, can be spammy and will hurt your site's ranking. Here also, choose some high PR directories. Submit your website on to them. This will be far more better than 1000 directory submission through a website.

Thanks for all the advice, Warriors! I guess it is best for me to submit them myself (to create backlinks) rather than relying on software which not only wastes money but also might hurt my website.

    Thanks again!

I echo the comments above. I do submit my sites to directories manually especially at the beginning to get them indexed. But I usually submit a link from a web 2.0 site I have created with a link back to my main site.

Directory submissions are not worth. You should try to implement manual links which are powerful.

submit your site to 1000 directories. You will get a few visitors who are the moderators who took a look to your site to know the quality
Its only for link building dude.

I have not seen an increase in traffic DIRECTLY from submitting my sites to directories but depending on which directory you submit to and if you are successful in getting accepted - it can bring an INDIRECT affect of quality backlinks boosting your SEO efforts.

I don't submit to every directory - I am very select about it, plus I don't spend much time per week to sit there and submit to a directory as some take forever to accept you. I do from 5-10 a week per site.

Manual site submissions are to be preferred the artificial submissions. Any how its a time consuming process but the output was niche.

I wouldn't buy software, but there are a lot of services out there that will manually submit your site to directories...I am a big fan of directory maximizer.
