affiliate marketing techniques for newbies

Id like to target some people who are not IM or even very internet savvy to do affiliate marketing for our online businesses.
We are targeting real world people to do affiliate marketing.
Ok here's the scoop... my boss wants to setup these parties anyone.
can throw at home that teaches/asks guests to become affiliates
for one of our 8 online businesses. Like a tupperware party for affiliate marketing.... I think its kind of a silly idea.........
For these people, what are some good affiliate marketing techniques for newbies i can suggest they use. It would kind of have to be real simple techniques.. or some kind of automated system that i setup for them.
I was thinking of making 5 post blog article site targeting appropriate keywords with affiliate banners across the top for them, with a range of about lots of articles they can mix and match, so as to avoid duplicate content penalty. But then i would have to still help these people perform linkbuilding and i cannot do this with so many..
Im not even sure if these people can/want to capture people to their list, then start 10 day email rotation to people.
