Wordpress Theme - Product Reviews?

I am wanting to start a new website to review and promote some products.

Does anyone know where I can find a free Wordpress theme that is neat and well laid out to promote products?

If you have a theme that I can use, then will you please help me.

Thank you

Affiliate Theme | The Affiliate Site Creation Tool for WordPress is one that came out recently that a lot of people are using. I haven't tried it yet, personally, but it looks good.

Product reviews are one of the purposes of my Info Magazine themes (see my sig). They're very basic, stripped down, dateless themes.

      Hi,

It's not free, but I like (and use) Warrior Neil Harvey's

WordPress Product Review Themes | reviewsPRESS.com

His other products are good too

For free themes I've been using 'cutline' for almost everything, until I recently switched to a set of paid themes. Copyblogger is a good one too, also made by Chris Pearson (maker of cutline).

I dont know if this is completely true.. but I mentioned reviewsPress to Dan Grosman creator of WPReviewSite who replied to me that Neil's code was taken from a previous free version of his review plugin. He seemed quite a bit annoyed by it too

          Hi Joe,

I wasn't aware of any of that - I have no connection with Neil, except being a customer and a warrior. If that's true, it's not a good thing.

          I understand that Dan's review plugin (v1) is open-source.

However, I believe its license states that it can't be sold, without permission etc...

These guys are using the same core code -- but they are 'giving it away' when you buy their review theme...something which Dan is apparently OK with...

          Review Blog Theme

          No affiliation.

I've never even been to that site, so it's nothing I've ever endorsed one way or the other.

If they distribute the code (send you a copy) along with their paid product, and it's not coming to you under a Creative Commons ShareAlike license, I'd say they're probably violating those license terms which require distribution under the same license.

It's annoying when people ignore license terms and sell open source work as their own product, but not worth the trouble to do anything about it. Best for me to focus on helping my customers, and there is no lack of people willing to pay for the benefits of a polished product, supported by the author, with free upgrades as WordPress evolves.
