I have been selling since March...took a couple months off to focus on other projects...but in the last month, i have been selling like hot cakes in my niche but can only sell 100 items a month or $5000 whichever comes first. I have 68 feedback, 100%....most from selling...and i sell a service but send a confirmation that it has been done by MAIL...even though I just email the buyers thats its done.

When will ebay lift my limits?????????

I think you have to apply to them to get the limit limited.

So I would have to contact them then? I was hoping they would raise limits automatically...theres a better chance of getting my limits increased if i called them right?

Plenty more platforms to sell on now out there, just branch out. You should never hold your eggs in one basket anyways. Be a world traveler and branch out.

And don't forget Amazon. I have sold on ebid before and I sort of liked it, one low price membership fee and never worry about listing fees.

The only con is less traffic so your profit will not be as high but hey its another avenue, who knows eBay could get shut down tomorrow by the feds for Tax evasion or allowing the sell of counterfeit goods. Not saying there doing it, but it could happen.

You can either contact them, or it can raise automatically. Usually if you have good feedback when the next month rolls around they may give you a selling increase.

Im very active on eBay with my account and my buddies account. To lift your limit you need to call. Once they raise it, then you need to sell with those limits for 30 days and then you can call back and they will raise it again.

As far as how high they will lift it. It ALL depends on who picks up the phone. Im not joking. I've had accounts that took the usual $500 to $1,000 to $3,000 to $6,000. About 30 days in between. Then on 1 account i called and asked if i can raise it and they went straight from $500 to $5,000 For that account, i just called acting like i wasn't sure how it worked. I just said "i saw on the site it said i can call to raise the limit and wanted to see if you can help me with that. The holidays are coming up and i know i'll be selling alot more than now and im already reaching my limit very fast" bla bla etc etc. Just play it like that and luckily if you get someone who is having a good day you might get a good raise.

Also let them now if its more the limit per item or for price. For me i was worried about price cause i was selling items $150+ usually. If your selling a lot of lower priced items, note that to them so they will focus on raising your item limit.

I learned something today - - I didn't know Ebay had limits on their sellers. I guess when I get to be a big-time seller, I will worry about that too. :-) Thanks for bringing this up.

They even put a limit on a big time seller all because he stopped selling for 1 year...like whoops you didnt sell for 90 days...so we'll limit you. Makes me fuming but for my niche its the best free traffic unfortunately...this is why im building a site and such so itll tide me over while im waiting for ebay to smarten up..

My limit is $7500 per month or 100 items. I simply asked. I can't remember what I had to do but it was easy.

if you are a newer seller then you have limits. I don't think that you can get the limits taken off very easily. With time they know you are trust-worthy

You have to reach the limit consecutively for 2 months, or 3 months depending on your amount of positive feedback. Usually if you have less than 100 feedback, you'll have to hit the limit 3 times a month. Above 100 feedback, you'll have your limits raised.

There are two different things between what eBay says is your limit, and what your limit actually is, and how much you are allowed to sell in specific categories.

Yes, buying feedback doesn't mean anything to eBay. You see 80 feedback, but if you are a seller, then eBay might only see 20 or whatever you've received from your buyers.

And also, buying 20 items for .99 will raise red flags with eBay. It's considered feedback manipulation. About a year ago I built up a sellers account and sold Pepakura (Folding Paper) files so people can make their own items. Each item was .99 which left me with something like 30 cents after the fees. After 200 sales, eBay suspended my account until I proved I wasn't trying to manipulate their feedback system which took about 2 months, and that selling a bunch of items at .99 was actually my business model.

Dreamer, ebay is no dream for me. It is more like a night mare. Feels like a horror movie. Well, I have been selling on ebay for many years. Actually since the 90's even. They keep on finding new ways to annoy me. Most people still remember how back in the day it was possible to sell using checks and mo. Sadly, those days are over. People must use pay pal now. Also, all the new regs are a major pain.
