What Would You Do To Promote This Site?

INTERNET MARKETING

Greetings.

I am hoping that someone might be able to give me some advice.

Please find my site in my signature. I am trying to develop a plan for marketing it and building content. I have been studying internet marketing for some time, however, being a mom and wife (who works full time), I have not had a lot of time.

I plan to try to focus on the site now.

If this were your site, what would you do to develop and promote it?

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

at the current point i would do nothing till i fixed up the site a bit. its very all over the place and hard to look at with no clear direction.

once you fix that and get a clear direction there are many ways you can promote this...

ppc
ezines with similar topics
youtube videos
all kinds of stuff

but you need the focus and numbers first

Your site is suffering lack of great contents. All you need to do is put some genuine, fresh and real contents. Google really care of fresh content. It would generate great amount of traffic than you realize.

With all respect, the site looks likes something from the late 1990's. Also I think using a '2' for the word 'to' isn't the message you want to be sending to this market.

The site isn't that bad. However I would suggest that you switch it over to a blog and add new content every day.

When it comes to getting traffic, you should start using all different methods for building links. Building links can provide you with both direct traffic and higher search engine rankings, which in turn will get you even more traffic.

Some data about ur site main keyword:
Phrase Monthly Searches: [teach your child to read] 1,000 720 $1.41

Exact Monthly Searches: "teach your child to read" 8,100 4,400 $0.68

I would have a dedicated youtube channel - would post 2-3 minutes videos that teach something...or show something!
Would have a some kind of short ebook that i would promote in signatures on parent forums - -to get the ebook they must optin your list... You would know better what the ebook should be about!

Build an app...think of the biggest issue with children that learn to read...and try to solve it with your app...or find some very easy reading tutorial and make it an app...you can sell it or give it away for free - for email optin!

Facebook fan page!
Yahoo answers!

Thanks, EdwardsEZPC. This is great feedback!! You bring up very good approaches. I am going to tweak the design of my site and then begin adding content. I will then begin implementing some of the ideas you have provided. If it is ok, I may be in touch later to ask for your feedback in the future.

I would also suggest that you add an opt in newsletter to your site and then follow up with your readers. That way, you can recommend different products in your follow up.

Plus, all the links that you have on your site you want to have them open up to a new window so that your visitors stay on your site even though they opened up a new window. Maybe they will check your other links too.

I suggest if you could update content consistently, try to create fanpage and promote thru social network like google+, facebook, twitter. Also try to build a list.

Hi,

Remember it takes alot of small little things to get a site out their such as fresh content, building links, possibly using social media, ensuring your site is error free, making updates to your site on an on-going basis, and so forth.

Personally I find using mailing lists and forums to be one of my better sources of traffic. Another great source for my content sites has been twitter, way out performing facebook.

Looking at your site, it comes off as kind of "flat" and "bland" to me. However, keep in mind I am not a designer. I am thinking making the site "funner" would help it.
