SMS/Text Message Marketing?

Like list building online, if you want to do sms marketing, you will have to build a list of phone numbers. Use your mobile phone, take all the active numbers from there. Take your client's phonebook and take all the number from there. Use some other techniques to build list of phone numbers.

Make use of some free internet sms services for marketing. Which help you to reach the customers near by shortly with your service.

My suggestion is that you do list building first, gather phone numbers and then do mass text messaging. You might need software to do mass texting.

SMS list building and marketing can be very profitable for small businesses. If you are going to start offering this as a service to your local customers, do it right. The way to squeeze the most money from a client is to manage the account yourself.... and it's very easy to do.

Here is a simple plan of attack. There are many affordable courses that outline how to make the most out of this in much greater detail.

1. Get yourself an SMS account at Avid Mobile or similar provider.

2. Have a sit down with your client and come up with a series of weekly messages they want to blast.

3. Set up a campaign with their keyword and schedule all of the messages for whatever particular days they are supposed to go out on.

4. Provide your client with signage or tabletop tents (if a restaurant) that have the short code and keyword or QR code for smartphones.

5. Be sure to have a solid pricing plan in place. Upsells could include sending additional unscheduled messages, having additional keywords, additional shortcodes, and more signage.

6. Once you have a couple of clients, start marketing your shortcode to other businesses as the shortcode of your town. Make them feel like they need to jump on the bandwagon.

This is a fairly easy business to offer local clients. Do some research and spend some money on a few different courses.

I am not really sure how you would do a list building for SMS, perhaps offer a free PLR product online, and not ask for an email address, but for a phone number.

I actually dont see the point of SMS marketing these days as most people can now receive emails to their phones.....

Obviously you would have to do tests and what not to see if it is the same for your market but we found that email marketing smashed it compared to SMS :-)

Not into SMS marketing (at least yet) but I have been working with Twilio's API to send and receive test messages. Seems like a pretty simple platform to work with.

Sms marketing is not perfect for our country because it is so costly.

It's very interesting, but I think SMS marketing is kind of spammy nowadays. Couple of days ago I received a WhatsApp message from an unknown number. Ofcourse I read it, it's WhatsApp? It could be very effective in my country if the message was not written in English, but in Dutch.
WhatsApp is very popular in my country and all people read there messages on it. I don't know how it's in USA or any country, but if people are using WhatsApp, I recommend finding a WhatsApp provider which will do the marketing.
