I am using Open Office to write my ebook, and when i choose EXPORT TO PDF and save...no matter what options I try....my PDF links will not open in a new browswer window like they should. They open the online page and stick it at the very bottom of my ebook....and you must magically figure that out, and scroll back up to the top again to read the ebook... Does anyone know how to fix this so when you click a link inside the ebook....it opens in a web browser? HELP!!! Thanks! |

It sounds like your links are not set as web hyperlinks but as document links. Type some text, then highlight one of the words. Click Insert > Hyperlink and make sure the 'Internet' button on the left is selected. Set the radio button at the top to 'Web' and type in the relevant web link in the text box directly below. Click 'Apply'. |

Which program do you use to read pdf files? I just tried it and with Adobe reader my default browser opened ok.

Thanks Guys!! When I got home, my home computer opened the links perfectly, but at work they open inside the document as you mentioned here...so not sure why it worked good on 1 computer but not the other. Guess it was the PDF reader settings at work? I think its okay now, thanks guys!! Sheila
