Work ethic vs. Passionate content

Just a quickie to get a general idea:

At least one blog post a day regardless of content? Or only putting it out there if it's the highest possible quality?

Or is it a question of doing one blog post a day AND it being balls-to-the-walls good? And if so... how do you force the inspiration to make that happen?

I think it just comes down to whether or not you actually have anything you really want to say. If you force yourself to post (however frequently) you'll end up saying stuff you don't really believe in, and you'll waste your readers' time.

My personal approach is to write my thoughts down at all times of the day. All the notes I've made will eventually end up on my blog in a constructive way.

But that's just my take on it - I don't blog for my income so I can afford not to post frequently. Some professional bloggers do seem to post about pretty much anything they can think of, and they do well out of it as long as the subject of each post is something their audience truly cares about. As long as there's interest in the topic they tend to get away without producing the highest quality content.

If you're not passionate enough about something to be able to write about it regularly then you shouldn't use a business model that requires it.

Who's reading your content? That's that answered

Or is it a question of doing one blog post a day AND it being balls-to-the-walls good?

Quality content multiplies and gets passed around when distributed to the right sources. No one benefits from low quality content.

And if so... how do you force the inspiration to make that happen?

By defining EXACTLY why you're online and always keeping that mental picture at the forefront of your mind. If you're an opportunity seeker trying to make a quick buck, you're content will more than likely be low quality and Inspiration may be hard to come by. It all starts with "why" you do what you do.

The minority of people succeed because they know EXACTLY why they're online. They have plans, goals, dreams and therefore, passion to succeed. They think of the "customer" and not the search engines. They think of providing quality and not just throwing s**t out there. The majority fail because they don't - and as a result, it shows in their actions, content and motivation.

Don't take this the wrong way, but the fact you have to ask this questions shows your mindset is aligned with the "majority' at this present moment.

I would say quality will always beat quantity. Do what is already proven to be working.

Allow me to give you an example, let's take Pat from spi (Passive Income: The Smart Passive Income Blog) for example, i am sure most of us has heard of him. He deliver top-notch quality to his reader. He don't write blog post every day, most of his time is spend thinking on how he can deliver quality posts to his readers and yet he's doing extremely well.

Writing poor quality content/blog post is like trying to start a fire with wet wood.

Cual, though the saying 'the more, the merrier' still lives up to this age, the frequency of your blog posting still depends on the nature of your business. If your business is on the stock market or anything related to finance, oh yeah, might as well keep your blog page updated once or twice a day. But if it's something that does not require a daily posting, such as our content writing service, a weekly or bi-monthly update will suffice.

Bottom line, it's not about the frequency at all but the quality or value you give you to readers. I think I don't have to expand that further.

here's how I do it. I go to the forum in my niche. Pick up few questions people are having. Answer them and just post them to my blog. The same way I am doing it here. The fact is that people come to my site to solve their questions and if I know the questions my audience has and answer them on the blog then people will find these questions in Google and eventually land up on my site. So it is simple. You don't need the best content ever, just find few questions, answer them and post them and make sure you do it on consistent basis...

You don't have to blog every day. It is the concept of quality updates over time that make it happen. I personally word vary the schedule, posting once a week sometimes, and 2 or 3 the next. Post when you have something of high value to give your reader. Use natural content strategies and you will be good.

If you want people to read your content, it's gotta be worth their time. Even one good post every 2 weeks is better than junk every day. However, if you're just trying to fill a blog with content to drive people to adsense ads...well then, the more pages the merrier.

You realize that blogs are read by actual PEOPLE, right? and if those people don't think your content deserves their time, their won't come back, right?

Moral of the story: if you want to make money by blogging, your content needs to be freaking good.
